Say NO to the retractable roof

Please vote NO to adding a retractable roof on the stadium. Our players practice in the heat and humidity all through the summer and this gives us a small advantage on gameday when teams who practice in cold weather areas come to town.

Do you think they would put roofs on Giants stadium, Foxboro stadium, Rich Stadium?????? Heck NO. They want to have an advantage.

JUST SAY NO!! Let the Jets, Bills and Patsys sweat their butts off in September!

Nice sentiment, but there's no referendum to vote in for this. It's Huizenga's call all the way.

It is his call, but he did say his decision will be based on a lot of his "top people's" decision. I have a feeling theres not to many people in this orginazation that actually agree with this. Saban is the first that comes to mind.

Who said they would use it on hot, humid or sunny days anyway? how does playing in monsoon conditions give us any advantages? when was hot weather ever an endurance issue when its raining?

Wayne is all about the mighty buck he cad add over a billion dollars a year of local buisness to south florida with some sort of roof. The roof is happening lets just hope it turns out to be retractable and as cool as this one:

the dolphins will have input but this is way beyond a roof just for the phins like it or not

i say use the money and get some more talent, who needs a roof in south flordia, unless he is worried about more hurricanes which probably wont be a problem

From what I got from his PC, the roof won't be your normal retractable dome roof. It will be mostly glass and have a different feel. Probably similar to the Texans stadium.

waittt.

wait i got a question if its a retrctable roof woudnt it be closed on on like stormy days not on any particular hot day?? so if its retractable then we could keep it open and still have the heat advantage right???

I did not realize that losing all that practice time was a benefit to the Dolphins

You can only get what the salary cap gives you. This is his own personal cash he's spending

Half right

Yes temperature can be an advantage but not as big as you think,
1.
Everyone practices in the heat in training camp and 90 degrees isn't uncommon anywhere.

2.
Players are from everywhere in the world and know what heat feels like

3.
You can simulate heat preety easily, Cold is another story

4.
In The bills famous home opener against the patriots on Field Temperature was 100+ degrees

Nice theroy but it really doesn't matter

No he said even the non-retractable roofs of today have a 40 foot section of glass that surrounds the entire top part of the stadium. He talked about Ford stadium in Detroit. And because of that there is not a feeling that the stadium has a roof because of all the natural light that would come inside. He said he is leaning towards having a non-retractable roof. A non-retractable roof costs 100 million and the retractable roof costs 125 million.

I tend to think that is why he is leaning towards a reg-roof.

As was so eloquently stated, there is no choice involved. Huziengza gets to do what he wants in this particular case. Also, just because we have a retractable roof, doesn't mean we're going to have it down for those hot & humid games in September, unless it rains. So we'll still have the heat advantage, with or without a roof!!

the day the dolphins stop playing on natural grass under the natural sun is the day that i stop watching the dolphins. even though i can't go to the games because i live on the west coast, there is just a feeling about being outside. whenever a game is on television indoors, i turn off the channel. it is too dark and stale.

One theory as to why the Dolphins seem to fade late every year is because they practice and play in the heat from July on and by December the are worn out. Who knows?

How many people have been to a 1:00pm game in September or October? As a season ticket holder I would love for there to be a roof on the stadium during those brutaly hot days.
