Merged: Shawn Rogers Bengal deal off, now going to Cleveland for 3rd

We now have Ferguson for the next year or two so I'm fine not getting into the hunt for Rogers. He's a stud, but his attitude and effort are questionable. I don't think that type of guy is going to cut it under Parcells.

To all who wanted Shaun Rogers

Sorry, guys, but he has signed a contract with Cincy...

Sorry for posting this in the wrong forum, but just wanted to inform everyone who didnt know

Bengals acquired DT Shaun Rogers from the Lions in exchange for a third- or fourth-round pick.
The Bengals are almost certainly moving to a 3-4 scheme and Rogers will be their new nose. Domata Peko could kick to end and/or help as a rotational player inside. Feb. 29 - 3:58 pm et

Also being reported at rotoworld, thank god we didn't acquire him. I'll take our chances with Ferguson and Starks.

Merged: Shawn Rogers Bengal deal off

ROGERS TRADE OFF
The trade between the Lions and the Bengals for defensive tackle Shaun Rogers is apparently off.
According to Mike O'Hara of the Detroit News, the deal was not consummated and the Lions will be looking to send Rogers elsewhere. The two teams had agreed that Rogers would head to the Bengals for a third-round and a fifth-round pick.
In our view, that's not bad news for the Bengals. Maybe it means that someone within the organization raised an alarm about the 2007 allegations against Rogers regarding his conduct in a strip club. Though he wasn't charged, is that really the kind of guy that the team should be signing giving its recent history of struggles with off-field issues?

With all the other signings though....we may not need him now.

Only BP knows what we need. And I'm comfy with it.

but, my personal opinion is I would rather not trade another pick. But, Rogers and Ferguson, along with our LBs... could ease some pressure off our weak secondary.

still dont want him...stay away from this guy...weighs too much and wants too much money...

did the trade not happen b/c of his strip club incident?

He's going to the Browns instead, trade with the Bengals canceled

A league source tells Booth Newspapers that the Browns will acquire DT Shaun Rogers from the Lions in exchange for CB Leigh Bodden and a 2008 third-round pick.
Beat writer Tom Kowalski notes that "details are still shaky," but we've confirmed that despite past deals, the Browns do still have their 2008 third-rounder and can trade it. Bodden would be a huge score for Detroit, which is desperate at cornerback. If this deal goes through, they'll be desperate at nose tackle. Also, Bodden will almost certainly want a new contract. Bengals deal falls through, Rogers still available

via roto world. also heres what rotoworld says about Pace.

8:46 pm et
Free agent OLB Calvin Pace says he "loved" his Friday visit with the Dolphins, but still plans to meet with the Jets this weekend.
"I'm feeling it," he said of Miami. "You know Parcells, he's going to win wherever he goes. We'll see man. I might be lining up on the other side of Jason Taylor. I just feel like I should still take that trip (to New York)."

9:26 pm et
SI.com's Bucky Brooks reports the Dolphins have signed free agent LB Calvin Pace to a contract that will guarantee him over $20 million.
Brooks could be dead on here, but we're going to wait before assuming this is done until we hear it from one of the teams. Pace indicated to the Miami Herald late Friday that he wanted to visit the Jets before signing a deal.
