Frerotte: Effectively running this offense over the first 3 games.

His stat line is not stellar but from what I have seen with Frerotte is a calm QB who manages Linehans offense with poise. He does his best to get the ball to his playmakers and his mistakes are few and far between.

I just want to say that I'm glad he is our starting QB right now and I have been since he was officially named starter... he is going to get better with each game and practice that he plays, he will hit the deep ball with more efficiency as he gets more accustomed to his receivers.

The next game, at Buffalo, will be a huge test, but for now I'm going to enjoy a gritty win that our Phins pulled off today against one of the top defenses in the league.

Gus has done fairly well, now lets get somebody in the wings because Gus is still a stopgap.

Feeley could not have made that throw to Chambers on the run, the D-line would have gotten to him.

I'm really liking the way Gus has played. I wish he was still in his 20's though, cause he's only good for the rest of this and next season most likely.

i don't usually agree with you, Fin in R.I., but i do here.

Frerotte has been an excellent game manager. I think the Buffalo game will be easier than the Carolina or Jets game. Buffalo is one-dimensional right now (the run), and fortunately for us, our run defense is our biggest strength. This will force JP to beat us through the air, which he has been struggling at so far this year.

if we can avoid turning the ball over, we can beat Buffalo. Right now we are a better team than they are. Saban needs to spank some discipline into our team though.... we are leading the league in penalties.

Hes doing a good job. Feels good not to be talking about that turd AJ Feeley anymore. Did you see him on the sideline today? Hes trying to grow a beard. Looks like a hamster died on his face.

I am happy with him so far but let me ask you if he seemed like he was not into the game in the second half? He just appeared disinterested somewhat emotionless. Just seems weird to see the leader of the offense so mellow when we were having so many problems moving the ball through the air the second half. He had 11 or 12 completions the first half and only ended up with 2 or 3 the second. Dont get me wrong, I'll take the win but I'd like to see him put two halves together on a consistant basis. If so playoffs for sure!

It looked like in the second half both D's had really made adjustments

I do agree though, he has been a very effective game manager, and he is everything I expected him to be. Not flashy by any means, but does what it takes to get the job done.

I am not as excited about Gus, only OK with him. He has managed the game, but has done just what needs to be done. The throw to Chambers was a spectacular catch by Chris. Face it Gus just heaved it into the air and Chambers came down with it (Boston were you watching?). Gus was very sharp the first half. He was accurate and was pretty much in control. Second half much more shaky and confused. Overthrew a wide open Boston deep as he did in preseason. And his pick in the endzone was into double coverage and the WR was never open. Terrible decsision.
So what does it all mean? I think each game we can count on Gus to make a certain number of key plays, and make some crappy plays. In the end we will not win a title with him. He will get us through this year.
In big games (Jets, Pats, etc. ) he will need to be smarter with the ball.

don't be so hard on gus he just may have a breakout year and surprise us all give him some time I think the rest of the league will be surprised as well
