Steelers | Team to meet with Hadnot

Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports the Pittsburgh Steelers will meet with free-agent OG Rex Hadnot (Dolphins) Wednesday, March 5.

I kinda feel bad for the guy, nobody has offered him a contract, and you can tell Parcells really didn't like this guy. You also have to think these team OL is gonna be good. We have Tony Sparano and Mie Masser, two guys that have coached awesome OL for a couple years and if they dont think these guys are any good then I have full faith in them.

He's looking for a team that is going to give him a starting job. But more than likely, he's going to end up as depth.

who else do u think we might be able to add for our o-line and im pretty excited about the future of our o-line with sparano and masser, do u think we'll pick up a couple o-line guys in fa or just the draft

he has a pretty good shot at starting in Pittsburgh though. there's some questions along that OL as well. Mahan hasn't exactly been stellar up there and Faneca just left. he's got to like his chances at starting either at LG or at C

Personally, I think Rex would be a good fit in Pittsburgh. He could probably start at center right away for them. Sean Mahan hasn't been able to fill Jeff Hartings shoes since he retired.

IMO, Rex was horrible at center. Then again, I also think he's mediocre at guard.

BTW, theres already a thread for this in the NFL forum.

It's interesting how there's been little no interest in teams willing paying what Rex and his agent asking price...

And Parcells and Ireland have basically showed they think he's a bum with not having any conversations with him at all.

center??? NO WAY!!! The dude was TERRIBLE at center for us, can't even count how many times I remember him just falling on his *** getting overpowered by the other tackle. This guy isn't worth what he thinks - that's why he hasn't been signed. Although i thought i did see a report that said Seattle signed him....don't have a link

A nice guy. A firey competitor, subject to brain farts, and other missed assignments. Known to hold or jump offside despite knowing snap count (? see brain fart). I don't blame him for trying to cash in, but it obvious why not many suitors.

Harrington released by Falcons......trade?

The Falcons released Joey Harrington today leaving them with only Chris Redman and DJ Shockley on their roster at the QB position. It sure seems like they are setting themselves up to the point where they will HAVE to take Matt Ryan. Could this lead to a DeAngelo Hall and the #3 pick for the #1 pick from the Dolphins deal?

Couldn't agree with you more then trade the #3 to Dallas for both first round picks and Carpenter.

Highly doubtful. They have no Defensive Tackles anymore after Trey Lewis reinjured his knee yesterday. They probably sit at number 3 and take either Ryan, Ellis or Dorsey whoever falls to them. They have too many holes to worry about right now and its too late in free agency to fix their DT position. I may be wrong but I believe they have already stated that they are looking to trade down and pick up more draft picks.

Remember their GM is from the Patriots and believes in drafting QBs in later rounds. They were seen scouting Paul Smith from Tulsa.

Also their new coach is from Jacksonville and when you think of the Jags what's the first position that comes to mind? Defensive Tackle right?
