Sunshine Network & Direct TV

I have a question maybe one of you guys can help me with. I have DTV and was going to pick up the Sunshine Network as part of a sports Pak $12 in an effort to see the preseason games 'delayed is better then nothing' . When I went to order it they informed me any PRO games would be blacked out if I reside outside the coverage area? That doesn't sound right can any of you verify that?

yep... that happened to me last year.. that's why i don't have the sports pak anymore.. spent many hours on the phone arguing but it didn't help.

Yup, as far as I've been told if you are outside of Florida the games are blacked out on SunShine when they are showed.

Next pre-season this won't be a problem if you get Sunday NFL Ticket. They will carry all the pre-season games on the NFL Channel, at least that's what I've been told.

It's true, but I agree, it doesn't even make any sense. It would seem more appropriate to black out games within the local market than broadcasts outside the local market (which will not interfere with ticket sales).

As I understand it, it is part of the "license" agreement between the NFL and DirectTV. I'm puzzled as to what the rationale for such an agreement could be.

If ya have a funny card for Direct TV you can see it. Or at least that is what I have been told. :infins:

If that is true, it is the best news I have heard all week!!

Miami- Tampa preseason game

If anyone is interested in a vhs tape of the Miami - Tampa Bay preseason game, let me know. I may be able to help you fans outside the florida area. preseason@clubfever.com

Official word from Sunshine Network regarding Replay games (Preseason)

Well, get ready for some expected bad news for Dolfans outside of Florida......Sunshine replied back to a phone message I left asking about the replay preseason games. Anyhow, in a nutshell the games will not be televised outside Florida because the NFL will not allow them to do it.

So although the replay games will show up on your TV guide, you will not be able to view the games outside of Florida.

It sucks!

FYI Mike, be very careful, DTV is out busting everyone and their mother who have these things or have bought the devices to program the cards. They are in the middle of a huge nation wide bust.

Just a warning from a friend. I know several ppl who have had to pay anywhere from 10k-75k fines.

I'd only be interested in using it for our 3 Preseason Games. .....Next year it wont be an issue with the new NFL channell. I'm already paying for the Total package. I've got every channell except the nasty ones.,.......we pay 100 a month on DTV.....really peeves me we miss those games.

Here is what really pisses me off. We pay over 200 bucks a season for 16 games. The NBA package is the same amount, as is the MLB extra innings. Now tell me how this is a fair to us NFL fans that we get screwed out of 3-4 pre-season games, when the baseball fans get 162 games for the same price?

It's total B.S. Football season's are shorter, we have way less games, spend the same amount on the Sunday Ticket, and they can't toss us a bone and give us the meaningless pre-season included?

If it is going to be changed next year that's great, but I am still pissed off about the last 6 years I have had this package.

What's this NFL channel? When does it roll out? Will it be available from Dish Network?
