Texans | Team close to signing Zgonina

Jeff Darlington, of Miami Herald, reports the Houston Texans are close to a contract with unrestricted free-agent DL Jeff Zgonina (Dolphins).

Seems like he will be real happy in Houston. If I remember a few years back on Fin TV they were interviewing Zgonina in his hometown of Houston where he resides during the Offseason. The guy has invested in raising Bull Riding Bulls, pretty cool to see him end up with Houston and sad to see him go. Zgonina was always a very serviceble player for us and defitnetly a locker room leader that will be missed. I guess he we had to let him go cause he was defitnetly getting up there in age.Best of wishes to him

man i know he did a lot of good things for us, but i´m happy when he is finally gone

WhY the happiness? Did Zgonina do something to personally offend you?

He contributed for us big time the season we went 4-12 but since then he hasn't done anything. Hopefully he gets a shot with Houston and since he's a Texas native seems like a nice team for him to finish with. He can't have long left.

I hope Fred Evans shows up next season so that he can replace Traylor down the line.

He wasn't what could be considered our best lineman. He's also getting up there in years (not a problem with Traylor). He gives us an open roster space. Win win?

He has freakishly big upper arms.
Correction, tree trunk legs thighs.

Feel kind of bad for the guy, he's a really good player and if he signs with the Texans it'll be the eighth different team he's played for. If he was a little heavier and younger he'd be starting for us.

Another old fella off our roster. Will the "experts" continue to call our defense old? Probably. But it's a start! :cooldude:
