Saban wouldn't reveal the playing threshold for what would turn the conditional 2007 draft pick the Dolphins tossed Detroit for Joey Harrington from a sixth-rounder to a fifth-rounder. But, he said, neither draft pick is frozen. ''It's a conditional pick until the season is over, but we have use of the pick,'' Saban said. Should the Dolphins use the 2007 draft pick in a supplemental draft, the conditional pick Detroit gets becomes a 2008 pick.

So, we can still use a 5th OR 6th on Ahmad Brooks.

Awesome news. We should just use that pick in the supplemental draft and keep delaying the pick Detroit gets. Make it turn into a 2013 pick. :lol:
 
This news was in today's article about the Vick signing. It features two quotes from Coach Saban himself, meaning he met with the media. Interesting that there is no mention of the Traylor incident, which happened Saturday night. Thats good news IMO.
 
I woner if Saban takes pride in making Millen look like a ******.
 
He definetly should use that pick in the supp for the simple fact of making this guy wait. Im pretty serious about that. Im not trying to be funny. The only thing is will a 5th get Ahmad?

I am drawing your attention to this quote from the end of the article.

The supplemental draft is special. You get a list of players and submit secret bids as to what round you would select them in, if at all. The team which picks highest gets the player. Last year we bid our pick in the fifth round, the second pick, for Manny Wright. If anyone else bid it was lower so we were awarded the player and thus lost that pick for this year.

There was concern we might want to use a fifth or sixth round pick in the upcoming supplementla draft for Ahmed Brooks, an OLB from UVa, who got cut from his team after the deadline for declaring for this year's draft. If it was pledged to Detroit then we couldn't have used it. Saban makes it clear it is still ours to use if we wish.
