Merged: The Dolphins claimed defensive tackle

I looked at other threads at theganggreen.com. A few days ago they had roster predictions and McGill was consensus to make the team. Only one guy disagreed, saying he liked McGill but McGill didn't show anything in the final preseason game and was in jeopardy. In a later thread, announcing the final cuts, deep into the thread one poster after another was desperate for McGill to clear waivers and stick on the Jets practice squad. I'd like to know if he has some disruptive quickness, which I always prefer, or is basically a stationary run stopper. One post over there mentioned McGill did get one sack in preseason.

McGill used to be a pass-rush specialist in college. He's only recently developed into a run stuffer.

Excellent. Thanks for the tidbit. If any position earns last minute roster alteration it's DT. After Vickerson's injury, other than Wright no DT on our "final" 53 can assume a future with the team beyond this year. Well, Holliday. But I don't consider him a true DT.

Yeah, I noticed the majority of Jets fans aren't too thrilled by this....

I LOVE IT!!!....Even if he doesn't produce right away, it's funny watching the Jets fans squirm....

PHINZ RULE!!

Bet your money on Shaw with an outside chance on Moore and Zgonina.

Of those three, I'd rather keep Shaw and Zgonina and cut Moore. IMO, 6 pure LBs are enough in our defensive scheme, since Taylor, Bowens and possibly Roth are hybrids who will play OLB in some formations.

Hold your horses!

I think Saban cut 24 instead 22 cuts.

So I think we have 2 open spots on the team

McGill -Chapman

McGill was a 260 lb DE as a freshman at Illinois. After that he seemed to go on the Keith Traylor diet and grow into a widebody DT.
