The Offical Bench Gus Thread

This guy misses every big open play. He is the most inaccurate QB I have ever seen. He misses wide open guys all the time. I say five games are enough of the Gus Fiedler experiment. Sit him and his sub 70 QB rating.

Bring on Sage.

Does anyone think that we'll replace...

Frerotte w/ Sage? Even though during PS I was not a big fan of Gus, he did impress me in the first couple games of the season. But with all of the mistakes he's made today (overthrown passes, underthrown passes, etc.), we may need a replacement before this one is over if he doesn't get his act together.

Between his inaccuracy and the penalties the team is becoming unwatchable.:(

Chambers should've kept running on the big one today. Misjudgment by Chambers. I mean Christ, do I have to put a 60-yard pass in your shirt pocket?

i'd like to see our receivers be able to get open in the short/intermediate routes so frerotte isn't forced to throw the ball downfield. why haven't we thrown to ricky or ronnie? bad blocking as well....putting all this on frerotte is ignorant

I agree.. I love it how many here put him on a pedestal like he is head and shoulders above Fiedler and other QBs we've had.. He is the same mediocre QB he has always been..

That being said, he is still the best we have at the moment in all likelihood.. While Feeley is WAY more accurate, he is prone to making some very costly mistakes.. Mistakes that give the other team points.. Gus doesnt do that as much.. Rosenfels is still an unknown, but he is most likely just as mediocre as Frerotte and Feeley.. Frerotte knows the system best, so he should keep his job until he starts costing us games.

i think you guys are overreacting. while the passes haven't been 100% on target, at least he didn't throw an INT, which AJ would have surely done by now...

i'd rather be mediocre and error-free at QB than good and one busted play INT for a TD.... remember we lost 8 games by 7 points or less last year, how many of those you think were due to the INTs for TDs?

i'd rather the other team earn the win rather than it be given to them. As long as Gus doesn't throw a pick, its good to me.

I totally disagree. That ball was decidedly overthrown. It woudl have been a highlight catch. It shoudl nto take that.

Everyone of you were praising him Week 1. Now we are on friggin' TD away from tying this game. If he throws one TD we will be tie dand you all will praise him again. Please.

i dlove to see sage trot out onto the field, if for no other reason than him being the goofiest looking and named qb in the league

Why did he dive? Like the announcer said, keep running...why dive? He should have dove had it been thrown too low, which was not the case.

The longer the pass is the harder it is for it to be precise. The WR has to make a play on that.
