The Vikings have ended negotiations with free agent C Matt Birk and TE Jimmy Kleinsasser.
Some team might try to convert Kleinsasser into a full-time blocking back. He's no longer a receiving threat. With Jeff Saturday signed, Birk becomes the elder statesman on the center market and will get a multi-year deal.

With how bad we need a C and Brown first visit being Washington. Matt Birk does not sound like a bad idea. If we cannot sign Brown.

I don't mind Matt Birk at all, he is a very good player but he is aging and is 32 years old. I don't believe we will even consider him due to his age.

i like Birk, he is great, but he i old and obviously expensive... lets stick with youth and development.... was Satele that poor??? i thought Satele wasn't great at all, but Birk will be a lot for how many years he has left.... then bye bye.

Is he planning a touch-n-go landing at Dulles?? He'll be signed in the first couple of hours. I wouldn't be suprised if he has reached terms with someone already.

yes brown is visiting washington but they said they are running out of money on ESPN a few minutes ago after signing Albert. They wont be able to pay for that many big FAs and his 8 mill contract will end up being too much IMO

If the dolphins miss out on Jason Brown what do you guys think about signing Matt Birk. That would fix one hole and we wouldn't have to draft a C in the draft.
