Hmm. Probably because he was a 2nd round selection by this front office who arguably has the most potential over any of our other receivers not named Brandon Marshall. He didn't look bad in preseason last year--he was a great big target and caught Henne's passes.
Based on physical ability, I'd say Turner is still very much in the mix.
He was a third round selection not a second round selection. In preseason Turner had 7 receptions for 75 yards and 0 TDs. His longest catches were of 17 & 14 yards and averaged 10. 7 yards a catch. Those are ok numbers. This organization really believes in players who practice well, and that is something Turner has not done. I have been told he does not create separation between himself and defenders, he is not aggressive for the ball, and he does not use his body stature like a WR his size should.
Answer me this why did Turner not see time on the field for a team starving for help at WR and if Turner is so good why did Miami trade for a Beast like Marshall. I honestly believe Turner is not made for this league, he has struggled to catch on as a WR in a WR needy team and is a very poor special teamer. If Turner keeps it up he will not make the team.
