Time for reflection

Let's all take a moment and put this season in perspective:

-Last year, we were 1-6. The only hope we had was the hope of getting the #1 draft pick.

-This year, we're 3-4, with a chance at the division title, and the hope for a much brighter future.

Essentially, we had all given up at this point last year, with good reason. Now, I'm sitting here, watching the Bills-Patsies, hoping that everyone in the division has at least four losses by the end of the night. I'll take it!

Putting the season in perspective:

1. Phins still have a losing record.
2. Phins still are within reach of 1st Place in the AFC East.
3. Phins will only get better this year and the next.
4. Phins still have plenty of holes to fill.
5. There is hope for the future Phins Fans!

hey man football season, like every sport, is a marathon and not a sprint. Its nice to see things like, well ronnie brown altogether, and apparently the offensive line is making great strides now as ronnies racking up the yards.

when you build a team, you start with the run. that passing ALWAYS comes later on. Great job saban.

I agree

We are 3-4! Really can you believe that. 3-4?

Gus is our starting QB. Our Oline still plays inconsistent. Our secondary is pathetic. And we have played a pretty tough schedule and we are still almost 500. After last year that is a f-ing miracle. You always want more wins but at least we are moving in the right direction. i think Saban and CO. are doing a good job. Oh and we have plenty of cap room next year :).

Season in perspective
1. There is a gap in the nerves from frerrotes head to his arm...
2. Welker is the man!
3. Boston is not a pro-bowler because the QB is average and he is on 2nd string.
4. Howard didn't intercept the ball, Brooks hit him and he automatically cringed in pain, therebye making a pick.
5. Zach had 2 tkls....but he can run with Dante stalworth....And they say he's slow???
6. The Pats season is dependent on a Stroke Victim, and the Arm of Brady. If either does not have a perfect game pats lose. Case closed.
7. The Jets are in cap hell. It's so bad that Pennington is still on the active roster because they don't have the money to sign an UDFA. Think about that... They can't sign anyone for the rest of the season.
8. Our Receivers are open, they just have trouble catching balls thrown 8 yards away from them...
9. Sage will be more accurate, but will throw more picks.. Pick your poison.
10. If the bills win we are in a three way tie for first place.
11. Then jets still believe they are in it. As long as they can beat the chargers....No problem, just stick in fiedler.
12. I love my fins, and saban is doing a great job.

I agree, and I pick Gus. Turnovers kill drives, momentum, morale, and games. I'd rather have Gus miss a few open guys and leave some points out there, then have the shoot-yourself-in-the-foot turnovers that have plagued us for the last couple years.

Your diagnosis of Frerrotte in No 1 may not be medically accurate, but there is something that is keeping him from throwing the ball where he intends to throw it - that is for sure! Not sure what it is, but he just can't hit wide open receivers from short-range (or long range for that matter). Maybe it's like when a catcher can't throw accurately back to the pitcher?? Think about the throw to Chambers last week at the end of the first half. The throw to Welker today ?????? When we - the fans on this board - can realistically imagine ourselves completing these passes if given the same exact situation, you know something is up!

You are right on about No. 6. Patriots could easily be 1-5 going into tonight if they didn't pull the Pittsburgh and Atlanta wins out of their, eh hem, well, you know.

The announcers hit in right on the nail. Frerrote makes good decisions and see's the open receiver. BUT he only makes the throw 30% of the time. I just can't stand it when he throws a screen and the receiver has to struggle to get the ball. ITS A 10 YARD THROW!!! Put me in, i've never played college ball and i can make that throw! The O-line looks better cause he gets it out, and ronnie is picking up the blitz.

That is funny. Howard is like the Barney Five cb. Has some sucess because he is so bad. Like the ball getting stuck in Howard's face mask after the reciever stopped on his route and Brooks throwing the ball to hard. Howard then running for a touchdown because the big guys are trying to get him.

Maybe he will get so bad, that he becomes so unpredctable that he becomes good? running where the QB would never expect it, and then falling an have the ball hit him on the ground or something.

I like and agree with all of you. I can't imagine what was going through Howard's head after he caught the ball, " Oh My God, what is this thing?" Today was more apparent that we NEED a good QB. There were a lot of opportunities that we let go. The score could have easily been 28-35 to 6 instead of 21-6. Anyway, this is going to be a great team, not good, great! But not this year, too many holes. However, our defense looked very good against what I thought was a very good Saints offense. You can go back and look at the predictions I thought we were going to get blown out 35-10. I was wrong. We looked good, bring on the Falcons

Believe it or not, I've thought about this very thing, and I've concluded that one day Reggie Howard will inadvertently intercept a ball in his colon. He'll be turned around, head swiveling wildly, fruitlessly looking for the pass as always, and the ball will find his colon and impact itself there, and he'll be credited with an interception.

It'll be interesting to see the refs spot that catch.

I agree with you agreeing. I think that is the key question. Gus .. well... he sucks to put it plainly but at least he isn't running the old pick 6 play. I agree completely here.

That's like the commercial where the coke machine catches a pass for the Pats. Only Howard's gonna do it with his ***!!! LOL....
