On ESPN the were talking about the miami releases and they said that trent green could return to the turn under "different circumstances". i dont know what that means whether its a coaching spot or a revised contract or what.
no link but i saw it on ESPN about 30 seconds ago.

My guess it would be a revised contract. Trent would strictly be the backup in 2008, his current salary/old salary would've been too high for a backup QB.

very interesting... I wouldn't mind seeing t. green back but as more of a mentor than a qb. maybe a 3rd qb for cheap?

I would rather sign Rex grossman because Trent Green is done as a football player.

yeah i feel the same way if he signs for cheap and is a backup guy who can mentor these new qb's aka john beck and maybe matt ryan or whom ever than why not but if it buts a big hurt on our salary cap room than i say no way. but for a mentor for a good base salary than yes you cant go wrong.

Trent could be back!

The agent for Trent Green, who was released by the Dolphins on Monday, says his client may re-sign with the team.

Dolphins VP of football operations Bill Parcells will meet with the agent shortly, likely about bringing back Green at a reduced rate. The 37-year-old quarterback would've cost Miami $4.1 million in 2008 had he not been cut.

...interesting... Beck needs the action but Trent can be a good experienced backup. Just like Carolina and Vinny, I hope it doesn't come down to it but if we need trent we have him.

I don't mind Trent coming back at a much lower salary number.

However, even if he is cleared by a doctor to play, just how reliable of a back up will he be? It only took one hit to the head to scramble his brains last year. Is he durable enough to play for an extended period if the starter goes down or if he beats out the other QBs on the roster?

Bringing back Green is Ok with me as he can help in the backup department and I would like to see us get a little more milage out of the 5th round draft pick we burned on him last year. Beck is no sure thing and if he cannot work out maybe there are enough fumes in Trents gas tank to get him through 1 more year.
