Given the fact that Ricky came back and did so well. With our needs at other positions including QB, Was drafting Brown a mistake? I mean he did OK and all but imagine if it was said "With the second pick, the miami dolphins select Aaron Rodgers." The position we would be in now...

We had a zero percent assurance that Ricky Williams was coming back when we drafted Ronnie Brown.

Nowhere near a mistake.

If Ricky get the bulk of the carries next year, I would say yes. If Ronnie gets more, then we did the right thing.

I seem to remember Ricky saying he'd only play a few more years, and plus, there was no assurance he was coming back when the draft was held. Ronnie Brown was not a mistake at all, although some people were calling him a bust after two games.

I have to say this is just a silly post!! The kid had 900 yards splitting carries!!!

Aaron Rodgers was a joke this year...

Here is a thought for you..We'll give you Pennington for Brown...

Ronnie Brown will be a 1000 yard rusher for many years to come..
Aaron Rodgers will be Tim Couch/Akili Smith...

ronnie brown was the safest pick at #2. overall..if saban knew for sure that ricky would be like the old ricky than the only player i think he should have taken at pick #2 was braylon edwards...

This is a dumb question. We had no Ricky at the time of the draft. RB was our greatist need, We had a chance at a amazing RB, so we took him. I think he will be the future of the team. Ricky will most likly be traded, if he doesnt flake out again and just leave. Yes Ricky got alot of carries tward the end of the season, but that was because Ronnie was hurt. Dont forget that Ronnie also held out some too, so it took him alittle longer to get use to things. Ronnie will be a the future and feature back in our offence. Ricky will prol get traded or start a yoga studio.

It's a sad day on FinHeaven when a Jets fan makes more sense than the person who started this thread. :shakeno: :boohoo:

seems to me that Pennington is the next Couch/Smith. Maybe one year he'll finish a season:sidelol: :sidelol:

there's no way saban woul'dve taken rogers at 2...braylon edwards has more value...

I don't think it was a dumb question but I think the answer is pretty obvious. Rodgers didn't do anything...I can't think of who I would have RATHER taken at #2. Boogie Brown will probably be the man for years to come... Ask this question again 10 years from now when we see how everyone has worked out.

Ronnie in no way was a poor pick. with an impressive rookie season with a marginal o line and split carries , his talent is there with huge upside. he's a complete back. Ricky as much as we all enjoy him is looking like trade bait and or the tail end of his career. Yes he still has a few more years but Ronnie is a great long term answer. If you can fill a long term answer at any position you must. Rodgers may do well but he could end up being a flop. Ronnie proved he is great at the nfl level. Look at previous long term solutions - Zach adn JT. We have not had to worry about those positions for years and with ronnie we wont have to worry about the rb position for years
