Anyone catch this news on CBS?

I woke up and remember checking my cell- time was 3:52pm(late night drinking). I turned the tube to channel 4(CBS) and caught an interview where, I haven't a clue who, was being asked about the Miami Dolphin situation but he specifically said that Wayne Huizenga was considering changing the format of the organization(handing control to the head coach) and using the GM system that has become productive in the NFL. Now, I caught the interview quickly, still drowsy, but I'm 90% on the word "considering" so perhaps there's not much to get excited about. Immediately though, I thought about you guys, you fans who terrorized Joe Bailey on 790 and probably wrote God knows how many suggestions to the e-mail given out on that very show. I thought, "They did it. Those SOBs did it." It was such great news to wake up to and even though there is nothing substantial to this point, for that to have made CBS means that we have spoken with so much conviction and vigor that Huizenga may actually be heeding our advice. I rushed to the computer wanting to be the first to post the thread but the powers that be(wifey) was on a communist trip. I figured someone would have already posted it but I haven't seen it. Man, the power of the written and spoken word- it's a beautiful thing. With every thread, we may very well be changing the face and future of our organization, all for the better. I'm proud to be a Dolphin fan today.

Props for Wayne for rehiring Dom Capers as our DC. Our defense is our life blood and we have to keep continuity. On the other hand our Offense is awfull. Fire Mularkey. Then hire a coach (doesnt have to be off/def coach) who can manage the game and who hires a GOOD OFFENSIVE CORDINATOR.

i dont think he has to personally. i think if we hire a offensive minded HC, he will get his own OC or promote a new OC. it wont be pularkey IMO. either way hes gone...

It was a nice gesture by Wayne, but don't think for a minute he listens to us. I'm sure Don Shula and other NFL alum are the ones giving Wayne his advice. Nevertheless, the bottom line is getting better and no matter how that happens I'm fine with it.

Those were my thoughts--that since Marino and Shula have agreed to be part of the 2nd round of interviews, they were in conversations with WH about what the team needs. If they told him, "Look, they just don't have the players. You need somebody feeding the right coach the right players" and he listened, then we owe them a debt of gratitude.

You're probably right, but even if minute, the echos from the fan base add weight to advice given by the alumni. Still, you're speculating just as much as I am. It could be that Wayne, Joe, and Brian(not to be confused with any Tom, Dick, and Harry) actually decided to do their homework after that 790 interview and have found that the majority of the teams in the playoffs this year are all utilizing a GM based system. But as I said, you're probably right. Your explanation seems logical, mine naive. It's great news eitherway.

That's something that falls into the hands of the new HC. It's going to be an offensive guy so he is going to chose what he wants to do. I really don't think it matters much any way because the new coach will probably be the play caller any way and that was Mularky's biggest problem. Get us Cam Cameron and we'll be fine.
