it's official, we suck
I have been a loyal fan of the miami dolphins since about 1974 and I will remain so until the day I die. When this season started, I had more optimism then perhaps I had in well over a decade. I mean, what wasn't to be excited about? Saint Nick's second year? Pep at QB? New secondary, etc.
I still believe in Saban, but I must say Culpepper looks terrible. I mean, he was one of the principle reasons for all of the optimism about this season and whilst I'm not ready to give up on him yet, I am very disappointed in what I have seen the past two games, this one in particular. I mean if this was ferotte, Harrington, Feely, or any of the past QB's not named Marino in the past 20 years or so we'd all be already calling for his head.
The defense can't stop the run. We couldn't against Pittsburgh and we can't vs Buffalo. This is frightening. (Perhaps we could do better if Big daddy was active for this game) and our secondary is still poor. We do need Travis Daniels back.
Our offensive play calling is really suspect to me because Ronnie Brown was rocking in the first half and on that last drive I don't understand why we just didn't ram it down their throats and into the endzone. They couldn't stop Ronnie Brown in the second Quarter. That interception Pep threw by the way was terrible, there was nobody in a white jersey around? Our offensive line is clearly worst than it was last year, although I am hopeful the Houck can turn it around, but I have to say, I'm really bummed. I'm not jumping off the bandwagon because that's not the kind of fan I am, I am a lifelong fan, but you know, depending upon what happens with the jets pats, we may have to seriously evaluate where we think we actually stand within our own division because this has just been a dominate performance by a team that wasn't supposed to be very good.
The only bright spots have been Wes Welker and Ronnie Brown thus far. Anyways, we have a long way to go in my opinion and Pep needs to do a hell of alot better than he has thus far. We should give him a bit of a chance, but I'm far more concerned than I was at the start of the season. What do you guys think?
P.S. I hope I never hear negative posts about wes welker on this board again.
