Miami lost. If anything, Wes Welker gets an A++ for effort. The guy played his heart out there and stepped up when we needed him when Marty Booker went out with an injury. I admire him, really, A LOT. He's 5'9 and 189 lbs. and is played 2nd/3rd string reciever for an NFL team. Most coaches and organizations wouldn't even consider a player of his size to have any chance in the NFL. Every time I watch Welker, he impresses me more and more and more. He's becoming one of the most reliable returners in the NFL and capitalizes on every oppurtunity he gets. The man has great moves too. Whoever No. 24 is on the Steelers defense....woooo man. He had his ankles broken and then some. And that huge punt return? Jesus man.

This guy has a solid future in Miami for years to come. Not just because he played well in one game, but because he's become a reliable player in the Dolphins organization and has a ton of heart. You don't need to meet the guy to see it. Look at how he runs, and how he plays. Look at his face on kick/punt returns before the ball is snapped. I strongly believe Wes Welker is quickly becoming a huge fan favorite and I'm even more convinced now after the game that he deserves that No. 3 spot on the roster. With Marty Booker out, he may even take the No. 2 spot. Give it to him I say. He's definately getting a sale for an $80 jersey with his name on it from me very soon.

Anyone else have an opinion?

Wes Welker...

So where are the Wes haters now...

I have always said he was incredible when you give him the ball...

If only they had gotten it to him more often in the second half...

he played second WR in the first half, then in the second he was back to third, so he didnt get the ball

Welker is the man

Perfect for the slot on this team . . . excellent vision on the punt returns . . . Im still amazed that people wanted to cut him during TC lol. I thought he was one of the locks on this team to make it. He is just the type of player u need on your team . . . plain and simple. When Booker is gone . . . he will remain in the slot because Hagan is gonna take Bookers place.

Top post!!

Yeah, been a big fan of Welker from the get go, and last night the little guy showed what this team is all about. EFFORT AND A DESIRE TO WIN. He had a huge game and could destroy the Bills next week in all aspects of the game.

Have been a huge fan of Welker from the get go and delighted the little guy started turning a few heads last night with a very impressive showing.

I ate my crow last night for saying we need a replace punt returner, but I've always given him his props as a #3 WR. I still think we could use a better kick returner, but he's fine returning punts, obviously. His quickness works better there.

This is a great Welker thread. The guy is awesome. I've said it all along. All you have to do is open your eyes and watch him. If you look at his height and weight on paper and say he is too small, then you are missing everything about Wes Welker. The guy plays with incredible toughness.

I have to say though, I am concerned about him. He isn't a Ricky Williams, so you can't hand him the ball 30 times every game and expect him to hold up. Welker is an awesome player to have on the team. BUT Miami has got to get Chambers, McMichael and Brown helping him out more.

For the record, the 10 points in the first half were because of Wes Welker. So Welker accounted for 10 of the 17 points last night.

There were Wes haters?

In preseason they were all over the place. Now they are too busy eating their words. :sidelol:

I love having Wes back for punt returns. Every time he gets his hands on it, there is a possibility of a huge run back. He resparked the team last night after a slow start with that big return. He also makes some tough catches. Wes is a solid #3.

Apology accepted. :D

Wes Welker is the man. I freaking love the guy. i wish i could put his heart in the rest of Dolphins. not to say they don't have heart, but when a guy of wes' size does so much, you just have to think what the other guys with there size and stregth could do with a little more determination.
