Merged: What happens to the Saints if Katrina rolls through?

the game against the Falcons will not have any delays due to tailwinds from Katrina...other storms, maybe. The weather forecast here is rain and high winds for Monday and Tuesday, sunny starting Wednesday.

The highways and interstate roads are very congested (bumper to bumper) in the Jackson, MS area now...north bound from coastal areas, with all area hotels booked up in the area. I heard that they were booked up as far off as Memphis, even Arkansas.

The Superdome was/is being used as a last resort for refuge in New Orleans, people that didn't have/couldn't go anywhere else. Also, they said that the Dome would more than likely not have any power, so it will be very uncomfortable. Personally, with New Orleans basically being a soupbowl, I would not even stay in the Dome.

Just recalling our Easter Flood of 79 here, Jackson and surrounding areas were under alot of water, with probably about 35-30' of water standing inside our Colesium....that was just from rains and the Mississippi and Pearl Rivers flooding.

Praying for all coastal people for safe trips out of town.

My prayers are going out to all of those in Katrina's path right now. Here in Ft. Lauderdale, the eye went right over us, and packed some very damaging winds {90mph}. It was pretty serious at only a catagory 1 hurricane, and my power just came on this morning after going out on Thursday evening. Transformers were blowing by the thousands....

I can't even imagine the destruction it's going to cause wherever it makes landfall, and I pray for those individuals who were unable to find safe shelter...

Good bless....

What About Mardi Gras Man
:fire:
I dont know how old you are but that might be one of the most RETAR DED things I have ever heard. At a time where people like myself have family station at an Air Force base in Biloxi, and others have family in the path of this massive storm you are worried about F*****G MARDI GRAS!!!! :fire:

They said today that the Saints might be playing in San Antonio at the Alamo Dome. They had Bret Favre on tv talking about his relatives in Mississippi...he said thinking about playing the game of football is kind of secondary right now...just hope New Orleans is able to rebuild...it could be many years before New Orleans is close to what it was. :( God bless all of you in NO, Miss, and Bama.

back online after Katrina came thru and did her deed. I was only 8-9 when Camille hit the coastal area, but don't know much inland details. But Katrina spread some SERIOUS wrath. It did structural damage here in Jackson area , nothing real major. Our main problem is/was electric and water..... and GAS. The stations were opening basically a couple at a time (as power was restored), making for very long lines ( alot of times for nothing). These things were merely nuisances to us, we could still sleep in our HOT houses, and eat on the foods we had stored in freezers. So I kept my cool about the whole thing here. It really Pi$$ed me off today when I saw 2 LOCAL people arguing over who who took whose spot as first in line at a gas pump. The station wasn't even open.Others had it MUCH worse than I did.

I feel so bad for the people that were in the direct lines of the full impact of Katrina. They have nothing to go back to. I hope and pray that people can rebuid their lives once again after all this devistation.
