Culpeppers's grievance hearing is set to be heard tommorrow. What do you guys expect the ruling to be, and will the trade and or release talk heat up again? I am ready to move on and move him out.

Culpepper will be found guilty of treason and flogged with a noddle. Actually, I don't care what the outcome is. If the decision is for Cpep, then he will be gone and the saga is over. If the decision is for the Fish, then the saga will continue, but maybe we can get a late round draft pick for him.

I think Culpepper will lose his case and his rights will remain with Miami. Teams like the Packers and Jaguars will then start talking to us about a possible trade. No trade will likely happen until the brink of TC(Late July), since there is no rush for these teams to get him in right away. In the end, I think he goes to Jacksonville for a 6th round pick.

I'm no expert on this and don't claim to be, but as has been stated on other threads about Cpep's greivance, even if he "wins" I don't think that means the Dolphins have to just release him free and clear. They may be forced to allow him to practice, but I also think the Dolphins will still have the right to practice him as they see fit. If they are forced to allow him to participate in team drills, the coaches can still lay down a strict "no hitting Culpepper" rule to prevent injury, then still hold out for a trade to recoup SOMETHING for all they gave up for him. Just my two cents.

Let's be clear about this, Culpepper is trying to get released from his contract with this ruling...he is NOT trying to get on the practice field.

I thing DC loses. The Dolphins never stopped him for practicing individual drills or rehabbing. They just stopped him from practicing team drills. HE walked off the field, he was not asked to leave.

If he's smart he accepts his situation - current team mgmt don't see him in the future. Just accept the best trade and prove them wrong.

I personally think DCs right knee will never fully recover enough to play a mobile QB. If he wants to continue playing he will have to change his style to a pocket QB, learn to read defenses, and study tape every week.

Wow, so in winning, he still loses. This to me would be the best outcome.

As far as the results, I believe that both parties have already submitted their arguments and Culpepper's baseless claims will immediately be thrown out...forthwith, faster than the impact to his 75 Chevy.

IMO Daunte is just taking these steps to be difficult to the Dolphins and prolong things. The Dolphins didn't do anything they weren't allowed to.

Yup, that's what he's trying to do.

It remains to be seen, if he wins, whether that would be the outcome though.

McNair's case, which is pretty similar, wouldn't have resulted in the termination of his contract with the Titans.

The NFL said it was gratified the arbitrator rejected numerous claims from McNair and the union, including that he be released from his contract and be paid for the missed workouts

he was told in the meeting room he would not be allowed to participate in the past single reps. He left the feild because there was nothing to do but stand on the sidelines... he went into the weight room to work out, it was locked, that's why he had an escort, to let him in.

If the Fins feel that they might lose the grievance, we might see him cut today...just to avoid any further complications.

However, if the grievance is heard, I still think Cpep does not have much to stand on. Either way, the whole situation is unfair to both parties. The Fins are not likely to get any return whatsoever, even if they win the grievance (other than the satisfaction of holding him up from getting to another team as long as possible, you know a little revenge factor there) he'll end up being released. The arbitrator isn't going to rule that Cpep has to renegotiate his contract in good faith with any potential trade partners, so he can still just force the issue and refuse to talk to any suitors the Fins come up with.

On Cpep's side, injuries are part of the game and is the root of his problems still. He can't get around that. All he has to gain is the satisfaction of the Fins not getting anything in return for him. No other team will be paying him what he is scheduled to make in this contract...none...so wherever he goes, it'll be for less money than he was scheduled to make here. It must feel good for him to have collected the signing bonus and salary last year and give very little in return...

Arbitrator: "So they paid you 8 million dollars to play 4 games? And you only won one of them?... I rule in favor of the dolphins"
