You hate to see things like this happen. Cassel's father died and he is questionable for the game this week. I would expect him to rejoin the team and play but who knows....first Marino's father, then Cassel's....I'm sure it's horrible to lose someone so important in your life during the holidays....

If he doesn't its ok, the Pats are playing the Raiders. They couldn't beat Chiefs a couple of weeks ago. I would like to see the Pats lose for sure, but it won't happen.

Was Cassel's father end a tragic thing or ws he in the latter stages of life...? That's the pre-determining factor here..., beacuse Cassel would have been grieving the death for some time now..., if it were a tragic accident or something then Cassel may not be ready to go as he grieves with his family...

That is a tough spot for him. Not only will it affect him emotionally, but the fact that he's missing a week of practice doesn't bode well for him. However, I think it (the game) could serve as a much needed distraction and he could pull out another Favre-like performance (also @ Oakland BTW)

Matt Cassel Out This Sunday?

There's reports that he might not play due the the passing of his father. My condolences to him and his family on this tragic time but we all must admit that it is good news if he sits this one out. But I dont think he will.
