Mike Nolan taking over Dolphins' defense

By Mark J. Miller
Mike Nolan is apparently joining the Miami Dolphins as the team's defensive coordinator, according to ESPN.
Miami supposedly asked the Denver Broncos if it could speak with Nolan even before he and the Broncs, um, mutually parted ways. Nolan's departure extended the list of coaches that had worked with Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels who left after one year: Rick Dennison, who now is the offensive coordinator for the Houston Texans, and former Denver running-backs coach Bobby Turner, who has joined the Washington Redskins, are the others.
Nolan, of course, was once the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, just as his father before him had been. Nolan the junior had a losing record in the three years that he lasted in that position.

I'm hopeful but not buying in until they make an official announcement. I don't get why they are saying ESPN is reporting but there is nothing about it besides what we have been reading since yesterday on the site.

its not official but this is a done deal. theres so many reports out there saying its done. book it guys , nolans ours.

I think it looks good as well but there are reports floating that one of the problems in Denver was the fact that Nolan wanted the defense to be his and his alone with no interference from their moron head coach. I think that's great but if he thinks the Trifecta is going to be completely hands off then they could run into problems in the negotiations.

I wonder if he knows how much Mcdaniels likes Mclain in the draft. Or hinted to Nolan where he was thinking of going.

i think theres a little more to the situation about why nolan left. i think when peas left NE, mcdaniels wanted him instead of nolan. mcdaniels has this fantasy about rebuilding the pats without bellichek. its going to bite him in the rear because mcdaniels is no bellichek. their loss is our gain.

Feeling really good about this, but still crossing my fingers until official announcment is made.

Hey Zachblitz maybe you should consider putting that sig to sleep until next season because it just seems ironic at this point (imho)
