where does that leave our salary cap at?

Well if we were 41 under before, and given the post from October brought up in the other thread (for which this will get merged with soon) saying that he would cost us 10M if he was here and 4 if he wasnt. I would assume that we will be somewhere between 45-47 million under.

supposedly zach was to make 6 mil this year as heard on espn.so 46-47 mil. this is slowly becoming a very interesting offseason for the dolphins as we are probly looking at the most play money we have seen in a long time.

I'm guessing we are the most under the cap in the NFL right now.

With ease, the problem is there are a lot of over valued guys out there hitting the market. Samuel and Briggs are both wanting 11 million per i've heard, and if Dallas Clark hits the market he may want at least 8-10.

Plus we have a number one pick to sign......

so let the trades begin.we can all see what is going on down ,next u will prob see a jt trade or perhaps a draft pick trade and i say lets get the show on the road.one thing for sure is we will not be a team that will sit back and watch others sighn free agents.its our turn to sit in the sun

I'll bet we're still not done cutting players. Guys like Schulters, Tillman and Liwienski may get the axe yet. Then we have guys like Lemon who will leave via free agency.

The thing is, we can't get carried away and go hog wild in free agency as all we'd end up doing is putting ourselves in salary cap hell for the future.

With the releasing of Zach Thomas,Miami will move from $40M too....

Salary Cap Total:$40M-$45M

Miami will release future Hall of Famer Zach Thomas.

Zach was currently assign to over $5M in 2008.

Zach is destoned to be a Hall of Famer,as he has more tackles than any Hall of Fame MLB's in history, with over 1,500 tackles.

100 tackles in each of the first 10 season in MIA(all with Miami).Zach is argueably Miami's best line backer in franchise histroy.

Zach's contribution on a lack of winning team over his career will certainly not be over looked.

As he,Jason Taylor as well, have played 110% even when they lacked to make the playoffs more than 4 times, and have no ring around their finger(s) to show for it in their careers with Miami.

And without out any doubt,Miami will never forget such a player that never complained, never gave up,and his everlasting determination to the franchise is South Florida.

Zach Thomas > Best MLB in NFL History

It really puts us between 36 and 40 million. We were at 31 million before he was cut.
