Haha, i just made a similar post. None of these cuts are in the least suprising. Teams are getting rid of well paid, declining talents, who can be replaced with younger players. If anything, all of these cuts are very logical. Plus, these are the kind of players that relly don't have a place on a rebuilding team like ours.

I hear that Jim Brown was just released, wow!!!!

We will be signing some old guys.

We will bring in some older guys and some of you need to realize that. A very important part is having guys the kids can look up too while they develope. Some of you need to relax a little because we may throw some alot of cash so we can get what we need out of them. They will probably only get 2-3 year deals but it will happen never the less. We will have one of these guys on every squad. We need one at WR (someone like Bruce or Johnson) one or two on the o-line, we already have a few on our D-line and LB but we need better talent and youth. We definantly need some in the secondary and at QB. These guys will be very important in our rebuilding and beleive it or not getting younger. Don't start threads putting down on these guys and know that when ever Bill and our FO sits these guys down they are agreeing to come here and help restore our franchise for the future and hopefully the now.

i totally agree that we need some veteran presence to help the younger players along but i don't want to be throwing tons of money at them in any way, shape, or form.

So you expect them to release the young (not-used-up) guys? Just some spring cleaning being done early. Tidying up the place, making room for the new models. Some teams will think some of the older models may have a few more miles on them and give em a try.:winkwink:

If it is big money it will be short term. You need to make sure that the vets you sign every rookie and younger guy knows their name and respects them. To do so you will have to pay. Bill has done this before and it is one of the secrets to his success at rebuilding the Jets, Pats, and Boys. It is also why a quick fix for being more competetive now.

I'm not sure where your coming from on that one but I will try. I don't expect any talent to be released at all. I expect some great vets to help develope the "not used up guys" and teach the rooks. Kind of like coaches on the feild and in the action.

I dont expect a big signing for a player in his 30`s ...thats not very wise , but i do expect parcells pursue someone that can be here a long time still in his 20`s

Just joking G-Force, I don't think I ever remember seeing this many free agents before. Its like Christmas Eve at walmart.

I know what you mean but it is kind of expected. We've never went 1-15 nor had 45 mill in cap. You know, as much as I get tired of this guy is available I am getting even more frustrated at people acting like we don't ned any of them. No matter who someone ask about around here their is someone ready to throw it out the window. Alot of poeple just can't comprehend that we also want the best chance to win now. The best way to develope or rebuild is to get younger talent used to winning. Their is nothing wrong with paying high quality guys at the end of their careers alot of money for a year or two IMO. Winning makes everything easier and installs a better atmosphere for developement. If you try to do that simply through the draft or inexperianced talent it takes twice as long. Parcells only signed for 4 years and that tells me that some older guys are coming no matter the cost.

Your right G-Force, there has to be a transition period with a mixture of vets to keep the rookies focused on the right things and help them adjust.
