If he were available via trade, take him or leave him and if you took him how much would you give?

I would think it would be a good move if the value wasn’t outrageous. One second seems about right to me.

The one thing about Anquan Boldin is that the best way to use him is also the best way to use Ted Ginn...for different reasons, but still.

I'd like to see you elaborate on that, because I don't see these guys as similar at all.

Ya. Ginn and Boldin are nothing alike, either in style of play or how you would use them. Boldin is an absolute beast who loves contact, and works underneath alot. Ginn, the complete opposite. To answer the original question, it makes little sense to me to get a wr who makes big money until we find out if we have a competent qb on this team. Id rather draft one or sign one next offseason once we have a better look at our qb's ( I think Henne is the eventual starter in Miami).

I think a 3rd is okay to give up, a 2nd only if the FA market is really thin at WR, next offseason.

I just cant see us making that trade. I think also that Arizona would want more than a 2nd straight up. I'd love to have him. But I just don't see him coming here.

anquan boldin can play on my team anyday. if the choice is b/t him and roy williams of detroit it's anquan boldin by a long shot.

wrs don't get much tougher and give better effort than anquan boldin.

it would take at least a 1st and probably a 3rd to get him from zona. too much for us. if only he were a free agent next year.

LOL. Ok, if you say so.

Fact of the matter is, both players are Flankers, and both players specialize in exploiting a crease. You try to get the ball to both players in space because of what they can do AFTER they get the ball, if you get them a little space to work with. Anquan Boldin is like a running back playing WR...well, so is Ted Ginn, and so is Steve Smith. They're all different kinds of running backs, but that doesn't mean they get used differently. Go watch some actual film of how the Cards use Anquan Boldin and then go watch some film of how we used Ted Ginn a year ago. Flanker screens, drags, hitches, anything to get them out in space where they can make someone miss and then make something happen. The main difference is you'd probably not want to use Boldin so much on verticals. In that way, Ted Ginn has more in common with Steve Smith.

i'd take him or roy williams. we need receivers bad. a legit #1 at least.

well put ck

i realize we need a #1 wr some kind of bad but why so much love for roy williams???

the guy disappears in a lot of games. maybe that has more to do with the detroit offense though.

Bolden will probably want a new huge contract. Not that he doesn't deserve it or anything but I don't think we're in position to tie up so much money at one position, keep in mind Ted Ginn was a top ten pick and will get paid like one. Also, we'd have to give the Cardinals a draft pick or a player as compensation. We're better off addressing the need for receivers through the draft or maybe free agency.

Ginn is 5'11" 180 and Boldin is 6'1" 217. Ginn runs in the 4.3 range in the 40 and Boldin is a 4.65 guy. Ginn is a thinly built deep threat whereas Boldin is a short to intermediate range receiver who is a physical possession guy. These guys are more opposite then similar.

if we got bolden that would be great i would give up our second and a 4th for him
