Fact of the matter is, both players are Flankers, and both players specialize in exploiting a crease. You try to get the ball to both players in space because of what they can do AFTER they get the ball, if you get them a little space to work with. Anquan Boldin is like a running back playing WR...well, so is Ted Ginn, and so is Steve Smith. They're all different kinds of running backs, but that doesn't mean they get used differently. Go watch some actual film of how the Cards use Anquan Boldin and then go watch some film of how we used Ted Ginn a year ago. Flanker screens, drags, hitches, anything to get them out in space where they can make someone miss and then make something happen. The main difference is you'd probably not want to use Boldin so much on verticals. In that way, Ted Ginn has more in common with Steve Smith.
