Dolphins sign two defensive players
By ARMANDO SALGUERO

The Dolphins have officially joined the free agent fray, today agreeing to terms with linebacker Sedrick Hodge and cornerback Andre Goodman.

Hodge leaves the New Orleans Saints and comes to Miami by agreeing to a two-year deal worth $2 million with up to $1 million in incentive money if he can challenge for the Dolphins' starting outside linebacker spot.

Goodman leaves the Detroit Lions after agreeing to a three-year deal worth approximately $5 million.

These signings were expected. Next are Brees, Givens and Ashworth.

I was just about to post this. Anyways thats good news.

Kind of suprised that we signed them two already. I mean I knew we would likely sign them, but I'd figured that we would done so after we get our QB problem solved. Good signings for depth BTW.

ashworth is going to be a backup as stated already and hodge? sure, but we aren't signing and sure starters...why?

Is Hodge really that good to be a starter? Does this mean that Saban won't go after Julian Peterson? I still wouldn't mind seeing them draft a linebacker with the first pick either.

Fair signings both of them good terms. Goodman will be the nickel or the dime CB and is quite good at that. Hodge I'm excited about to see play considering his talent and he's huge...

I love Hodge, in a non Brokeback Mountain kind of way, and and I haven't heard of Goodman but if Saban signed him he must be good.
