Man for a guy who hasn't won one game, he talks a lot of junk...Even if you hate the Pats, I have to give Bill his due..they have won SB's..

Big difference between being a successful DC (or OC) and a successful HC. I don't think he'll be an improvement over Mangi.

How did the other 2 Baltimore D Coord's do as head coaches ? Mike Nolan and Marvin Lewis anyone ?

He (Sparano) can say whatever he wants as far as I'm concerned, as long as the Dolphins win!

New York certainly isn't a plug-and-play kind of situation either, like with Norv Turner and San Diego or Mike Tomlin and Pittsburgh.

Ryan has to prove he can win with questionable talent. He's not given some great team like the rest of them.

I expect the Jets to be well below .500 this season. Maybe that will shut these ridiculous fans up, although I doubt that.

I see an interesting parallel between Ryan and Univ. of Tennessee's new head coach Lane Kiffin. I think as a player, you get a little emotional boost, knowing your coach is'nt going to pander to anyone. For me, personally, it's right behind naming your field Landshark Stadium, in terms of hubris (there I said it).

About as well as Buddy did as a HC. And then again, Ozzie Newsome, an excellent GM, went outside for the rookie HC instead of promoting the guy he knew best.

nothing wrong with some fire from a coach, the division is wide open this year. I see the Patriots taking the division but the other three teams could end up anywhere from 2nd to 4th depending on how things go.

I guess you have to remember he is Buddy kid.......This is mild to what were going to see from this guy over the next couple of years......I want to see him take a swing at Belicheat at the end of the game......

I like it from a head coaching perspective. He's not going to let anyone intimidate him or his team regardless of what they have done. I think Rex Ryan is arrogant but sometimes you have to be to win over the confidence of your team. That being said i hate the fact that ESPN ALWAYS hype up the Jets because of the Market that they play in and that we beat that *** on monday night football.

Rex Ryan's Mouth proves he is right where he belongs

I just saw this and had to post it: Wow what a jerk this guy is!

Miami Dolphins: Rex Ryan on a rampage

Maybe it's because he inherited a 1-15 team. Or maybe it's because he knows better.
But Tony Sparano has done no trash-talking in more than a year as Dolphins coach. Instead, he's deflected all praise, and downplayed most expectations.
New Jets coach Rex Ryan?
He can't seem to help himself.
Credit to Mike Florio at Pro Football Talk for pulling these quotes off Ryan's interview with WFAN's Mike Francesa in New York.
“I never came here to kiss Bill Belichick’s, you know, rings,” Ryan said. “I came to win. Let’s just put it that way. So we’ll see what happens. I’m certainly not intimidated by New England or anybody else."
Asked by Francesa whether his team needs to send a message to the Patriots, Ryan offered up a vague response that hints at some behind-the-scenes skirmishes that already have unfolded between the two franchises (separate and apart from the whole “Spygate” thing).
“I think we already have sent a message to them,” Ryan said. “So they can read between the lines. . . . They can figure it out. And when they come here that second week of the season, we’ll see.”
Sorry, but I can't ever see Sparano acting like this.

I think the jets lack leadership and team unity, as for talent they have more than we have at nearly every position but QB. They could be below .500 as you say or they can buy into Rex like we did TS and be a division champ. One thing is for sure, such strong talk in such an explosive enviroment can only go two ways, there is no middle ground. He will either be a god or enemy number one.

Sometimes these kinds of things come back to bite you, but I for one kinda like his style. Whats the harm in sending a shot over the pats? Lets see how it plays out. I think he will bring even more drama into an already dramatic division. Add in TO to the mix in Buff and this is adding up to be a real banger of a season. I am on the edge of my seat :hump:
