Lawyers for the National Football League and former New England Patriots video assistant Matt Walsh are close to a deal in which information and materials pertaining to past videotaping practices would be handed over to the league, The Hartford Courant reported.

This is huge. There was speculation that he had nothing. But if he does indeed have the goods on Belicheat, I hope the NFL bans him for life.

i highly doubt that the video is fake or nonexistent. Belecheat will get torn a new one, but then again last time they cheated goddell slapped him on the wrist then proceeded to get down on his knees and lick his wounds (sucky sucky)

this has potential to get good. Theres nothing i like more than all the negative publicity the pats are getting.

I think as a fan of the NFL you have to ask yourself why has league dragged it's feet on this for SOOO Long. This story broke around the Superbowl. That was early Feb.? We are now at the end of April. 3 months. It would appear the NFL likes having the Patroits as a dynasty. Also why did the league destroy the tapes that the Patriots turned over? There is no reason to destroy them.

the league is just going to destroy the evidence. nobody will see it. not much will change

Its not that they dragged it on... The reason this was taking so long is because the lawyers for the NFL and for Walsh couldnt come to an agreement on giving Matt Walsh total leiniency and protections from law suits

Nothing is going to come out new from this guy. If he had something crazy then 1 more of the 50 people the NFL interviewed from foxboro would have at least dropped a clue.

I also believe kraft , piolli would not gone out of their way to claim other wise .If something was thier i can see kraft and piolli take a different approach and distance the patriots and them from BB.

I cannot wait for this guy to talk .

Breaking News: Matt walsh to meet with comminssioner may 13th

Commissioner to meet with Walsh on May 13

National Football League

The NFL released the following statement this morning:
An agreement has been completed between the NFL and Matt Walsh that will allow Mr. Walsh, a former videotape operator with the New England Patriots, to share with the NFL information about activities occurring during his employment with the club from 1997-2003.
Commissioner Goodell will meet with Mr. Walsh in the commissioner’s office on Tuesday, May 13, the earliest date that Mr. Walsh, who lives in Hawaii, will be available on the east coast.
The agreement also requires Mr. Walsh to return any tapes and other items in his possession that belong to the Patriots. In return, the NFL and the Patriots have promised not to sue Mr. Walsh. They also will indemnify him for any expenses, including legal fees that he incurs in connection with the interview.
Commissioner Goodell determined last September that the Patriots had violated league rules by videotaping opposing coaches' defensive signals during Patriots games throughout Bill Belichick’s tenure as head coach. Coach Belichick admitted to his use of the taping practice on a regular basis as a result of what he said was his misinterpretation of the rule. Commissioner Goodell imposed substantial discipline on Coach Belichick and the club as a result of that practice. The interview with Mr. Walsh will seek to determine whether he has any new information about that videotaping practice or other possible violations of league rules.
Following the meeting with Mr. Walsh on May 13, there will be a news media briefing later that day in New York that will be attended by Commissioner Goodell (specific time and location to be provided at a later date).

sorry if anyone already posted this but i think its big news... i hope they go down hard

to me, this is like john wilkes booth reporting to jefferson davis!

from what walsh says, there is damaging evidence against not only
the pats, but for the nfl also!!

and goodell has been part of the nfl brass for sometime.

i think walsh should have his attorney present and have a
press conference DETAILING all the cheating and infractions
of the teams involved and the nfl itself.

i am sure there are more coaches besides bb, both now and
in the past who dont want this to come to light. and i am
sure the nfl wants nothing more than to have this burried.

meeting with the nfl comish is rediculous! it should take place with
nuetral parties.

yeah id hate to ruin the face of the nfl.. but taking down the bad guys might actually help it... plus i hate the pats and hope they get what they deserve..
