Thanks for the memories Tedy! Thanks for doing the right thing. He knew the Pats would never cut him. He had to make the decision on his own.

Huh. Well, he wasn't that much to worry about in the 1st place. I'd rather he keep playing now that I think about it.

That aside, I wish him well in life after football, he's a Pats player, but he always seemed like a decent guy.

Bruschi was awful last year.

He looked way too slow and weak out there. It clearly looked like he was outmatched and didn't belong on the field.. This news is no surprise. Many called it over the summer.

Vrabel was another LB that lost two steps last year. At least the Pats got something for him in a trade.

Just another example of the Pats losing older players that made them good. Time catches up with everyone.

I'd be much happier if was someone on offense instead. But then again, I don't want any excuses if (or should I say when) we sweep NE this year. :woot::hi5:

good!!! I cant stand any Rat! I wish the entire Ratriot organization would announce its retirement from the NFL

I wish he would have stayed on the team. He wasn't good anymore.

During the Pats SB runs, Bruschi, Vrabel and Harrison were the emotional leaders of that defense.
They are all gone and IMO, that significantly hurts the confidence of that defense. They provided an intangible element. They were also very smart players.
Also, Seymour hasn't played a 16 game season since 2006 (I believe) as he has become quite injury prone. The defense will be their weakness this season. I don't think they can hang with physical teams like Pittsburgh and Baltimore.
I still believe the Pats are a dangerous team, but they peaked 2 seasons ago and they are on the downside of their run. It happens to every team at some point.
Question is, which team in the AFC east is ready to knock them off their perch?
Hopefully, its our Fins

as much as I despise the Patriots he'd always be a problem for our past year's Offenses (see the @ New England game in the snow when Fieldler was QB) he was a solid MLB who just so happened to win 3 Super Bowl rings.

Have to say, you have to respect any player for coming back from what he went through.

Bruschi retiring today

Al Michaels alluded to Tedy Bruschi announcing his retirement today. The Patriots will now be without Vrabel, Harrison and Bruschi this season. That's a lot of defensive experience that won't be around.
