At this point this thread should be closed or put on hold. All reports fron NO and Miami indicate that McPherson is struggling and may be released. Nothing will be done until that happens or we find out its not going to happen. Why trade for someone you can eventually get for free? Especially when its a risk; He is 4th string on their team.

On tuesday Jason Cole of the Miami Herald reported that the Dolphins are monitoring the Saints's QB situation. McPherson has fallen to 4th string in their rotation and may be released. Jason said that the dolphins might bring him in if he is released. On the same article Cole said that the Dolphins are trying to trade Gordon, and will take a 6th rd for him.

Another gem from the past regime. We trade a third round pick for this bozo and he plays three games before getting hurt and totals all of about 12 yards. A year later, we are begging someone to just give us a sixth round pick, a LONG-TERM project at QB that has the mental capacity of a ground squirrel, or a nice pair of socks to get rid of this goof who is so tenative to leave the backfield, you'd swear he was agoraphobic!

Guys, can we please stop talking about trading for projects that Saban passed on anyway? Now I don't think that Feeley or Frerotte is the answer but nobody is going to come in this late in the preseason and learn the offense and make a difference. I have read the message boards on this site for a while and have never posted until now because I can't take all of these hopeful trades that won't help us. Let's ride who we have to 6-10 or 8-8 or whatever and be competitive in every game and see what happens. If they trade a 4th for McPherson and he flops, everyone will want Saban's head.

Saban didn't pass on him. He said he was going to take McPherson but the Saints picked him before our turn. If, the Saints don't pick him, then Saban does. So, Saban didn't pass on him, does that make it better now?

Jim Druckenmiller had one of the strongest arms you can have but he was a mental midget so he never started anywhere in the NFL. I see McPherson as being the same.

Because NO would have to want Gordan to be their backup RB & they already have a good back up.

So cause he's black we shouldn't get him since no black qb's have won? I disagree with that statement. If marino was in his last years as a dolphin and another team was looking at him would you say they shouldnt take him cause "whens the last time he won a championship." By all means, mchpherson aint marino, and I dont even want the guy, but you cant say its because no black qb's have won a super bowl lately.

If the vikings had some D culpepper would have one by now easily. If the vikings were to release culpepper and we were interested would you not want him?
