Yes Another "Give Sage A Chance" Thread
Hello everyone from FinHeaven....this is the first time I post here so I am not allowed to attach links...My following comments are a reaction to today's Miami Herald article by Edwin Pope titled "Rosenfels Needs His Opportunity"- please try to read this article if possible
I just happen to agree with OJ McDuffie on his take of why Rosenfels hasn't been given a chance to play after 3 regimes... In short, he says it's all business politics....I was disappointed when I first heard that Frerroten was coming to Miami via Linehan because I feared that a repeat of Wannstache and Fiedler (The Titanic Duo) would sink us again...I do think that as a first year coach Saban wanted to show Linehan he had trust in him, and gave him a little too much power behind the scenes...I understand this is all hearsay ofcourse, but as the season has developed that opinion through instances such as bad play calling and a refusal again to sit a below average and over the hill back up quarterback has reinforced that belief...I read all these people that say we are "rebuilding"....that theory alone does not hold water when you are starting a career loser like Frerrotten, instead of a younger QB....I also read the good old "he knows the system" excuse....let him teach that incredibly intricate and complicated "system" to someone that can execute it while carrying the clipboard on the sidelines...By the sound of it, this "system" must be more complicated than making the atomic bomb....If all the players haven't gotten a grasp on Linehan's brilliant offensive scheme so far....send them back to pre-school please....and lastly there's the old and favorite cliche "He gives us the best chance to win"...my favorite of them all....as you recall Wannsteadt and most coaches on the hot seat use this expression week after week after week....We get it!!! Problem is that these coaches seem to lose week after week after week sticking to these so called "best chance to win" players...but I guess if the coach says so- then it must be true!!! Yeah Right!!! In anything in life....when something is not working...you should act and try to change it....this ofcourse can result in either positive or negative results...but in my opinion the risk is worth the chance...and the experience makes it a hell lot of fun trying...if there were no change in life - imagine how dull everything would be....IMO change the QB...and I as a dolfan for 22 yrs already...would actually be looking forward to going to games...even if it's a failure....it would be more interesting to than to watch than this incredible great "managing", won't make costly mistakes (10 Int..how many fumbles already? oh yeah 9 of them!!), secure and pocket presence filled QB stud we have ....In reality what we have behind our center is already a failure in my eyes...and has been for twelve years...oh wait...I forgot that incredible 97 year he had in Washington which was his last official career start (this is ofcourse does not include when the better starting quarterback goes down to injury and he was forced to start)....now that was very inpressive!! It's a sad commentary on your career....when all you will be remembered for, is ramming you head into an endzone wall after a TD celebration...was that very intelligent?? I guess it was enough for him to execute and run the complicated "Linehan Best Buddy System"....later Fin Fans!
