I agree with SWS84 and think that we could surprise a lot of teams. Last year was horrendous, but it wasn't talentless. It was rb-less, coach-less, break-less and miserable. But it was not talentless, and if the pieces fit together, with Nicks plan, we could do some damage and I'm thinking 2 years to potential strong success. Something we have lacked for a long time.
 
Very nice article! Was a pleasure to read something that actually gave us props instead of explaining why we suck so much!
 
Yeah, we discussed this in another thread. Great read. Is nice to see someone who actually thinks we're do well. Of course i'm all about the "Opinion' thing, but, I agree with his.. lol.. I don't expect a miracle, but, we will not be anywhere near last seasons team!

Saban is building a contender from the start. Whens the last time we had our first 4 draft picks, well we all knew who they were from when their name was called. That doesn't mean they will be stars, but it's a different approach. The key will be QB, and I think Frerotte has the nod, if he can play ok, then why can't we succeed. Our line has to be better, we have added some bigger lineman. We have a new coordinator, and new O-line coach, both who are BIG time coaches. We new coach, with a different attitude. 3 solid receivers, a super star TE, and a new runningback, with all signs pointing to a star. Why can't we be competitive.

As a Pats fan, I thought you'd understand how similar Saban is to your own coach.......and how much respect your coach has for Saban.





Unless, of course, you're an UNINFORMED Pats fan....

I was just at a loss for words. I couldn't believe he thinks it will take 5 years for us to make a playoff run. So I said nothing. But, inside, I was seething.

he might be in shock that alot of experts didn't even pick the Jets to go to the playoffs this year....

Wow...I see the comparison that they we're both good college coaches but I think the comparison ends there. Call it thinking optimistically but i think that Saban will be alot better than Butch.
 
Damn right! Finally someone who thinks that we're going to compete. I really think that we can finish .500 if not better. The only concern I have is how well Feely is going to play but i got some faith. Andy Reid is a pretty good judge of talent and I think he obviously saw enough in this guy to draft him.
