Just for grins I looked back at RM's history of player personnel with Seattle and NO.....my conclusions for what it is worth IMHO only....

-He values speed.
-He likes acquiring extra picks low and high.
-He almost always brings in a low round or High priority CFA QB.
-He will draft OL at the top of the draft.....and will go with interior guys, not always tackles. (Pete Kendall, LeCharles Bentley).

Maybe coincidence but he takes A Lot of mid-late round TE's.

Honestly his drafts are nothing to get too excited about,,,his best picks Ahman Green, Walter Jones,Marc Bulger and LeCharles Bentley. He does pretty good targeting QB's, OL, and TE's...not so good,,,about average,,, with DL (Charles Grant, Lamar King, Darren Howard)..and his late round picks are probably slighly worse than the average NFL team although late rounders are hit or miss by nature. He does usually bring in a large UDFA class and tends to draft from large school programs in general. He swung and missed with Lamar King of Saginaw State and other than that does not really dip into small school programs often...

For what it is worth....

To be fair, Charles grant and Darren Howard were both supposed to be very good coming out of college. I blame their lack of development on Jim Haslett.

Here is a better history or Mueller...

1996 (7-9, missed playoffs)
OG Pete Kendall (drafted 1st round)
CB Fred Thomas (d2)
DE Phillip Daniels (d4)
QB Jon Kitna (undrafted free agent)
S Darryl Williams (free agent, signed from Cincinnati)

---Kendall signed with Arizona before the 2001 season. Thomas signed with the Saints in 2001, when Mueller was in New Orleans. Daniels bolted for Chicago in 2000 and is currently in Washington. Kitna became the full-time starter in 1999, when the Seahawks won the AFC West in Holmgren’s first season at the helm. He is now in Cincinnati as a backup to Carson Palmer.

Williams was a Pro Bowler in 1997, the same year when he laid out Raiders tight end Rickey Dudley in the Kingdome. If only I could find a pic of that hit.

1997 (8-8, missed playoffs)
Traded QB Rick Mirer & 4th round pick to Chicago for 1997 1st round pick (11th overall)
CB Shawn Springs (drafted 1st round #3)
OT Walter Jones (drafted 1st round #6)
TE Itula Mili (drafted 6th round)
LB Chad Brown (free agent, signed from Pittsburgh)

1997 1st round pick (11th overall) and multiple picks traded to Atlanta for 1997 1st round pick (3rd overall) --- Shawn Springs

Traded 1st round pick (12th overall) and 3rd round pick to Tampa Bay for 1997 1st round pick (6th overall) --- Walter Jones

---Springs is now in Washington. Jones has been one of the best offensive linemen in football, but will be a free agent this offseason, as will Mili. Brown was signed to a 6-year, $24 million dollar deal by the Seahawks in February 1997 and is still with the team....

The rest is can be found here http://bremertonians.blogspot.com/2005/01/case-for-randy-mueller.html

Mueller didn't draft Lamar King. Mike Holmgren made that decision. Mueller had more power from 1995-1998. In 1999, Mike Holmgren held all the power.

I think Mueller's drafts with the Saints were very good. He also fleeced Dave Wannstedt twice with the Rick Mirer trade and the Ricky Williams trade.

Most importantly, Mueller drafted Deuce McAllister, making Ricky Williams expendable. Mueller then packaged Ricky off to us for two 1's and a 3, thus: (1) replacing Ricky with a more reliable (at least mentally) franchise back; and (2) unwinding some of the damage Ditka did to the Saints by trading the farm in picks to move up and draft Ricky. Of course, we were on the wrong end of this deal -- but it's nice to have the guy who stuck it to us on our side now, right?

Randy Mueller's Drafts

Anyone got a breakdown of his drafts in New Orleans and Seattle? Also, how much of his input went into our past drafts here?

this has been discussed here before maybe we can dig something up cuz i remember someone goin into depth on that subect.

Randy Mueller

Now that he will actually do his GM duties that Saban is gone, do any of you think Miami will draft a QB at some point in the draft? Someone help me out on this but if im not mistaken, I believe Mueller once said that he believes on drafting a QB at some point in every draft.
