this would be a great signing because schulters would bring the experience that tillman does not have...schulters and t. jones would be a pretty good tandem at safety...then if chester comes back healthy, i see our defense being a lot better this year...even with the loss of surtain, bowens and knight...

Are you sure Lance is a FS? I thought he was a bit of a FS/SS hybrid, and someone that excels playing close to the LOS. Could be wrong...
 
i think Lance is a FS, but you are right Surf, he is in the mold of Roy Williams, ie big guy that could play SS.

It would make Tebucky and Lance interchangeable which could some confusion for teams.
 
I think its safe to say that we are bringing in Lance for FS duties, not SS, either way he will be an awsome addition to an already good D. The only thing I dont like about it is I really wanted to see Bell out there, but Schulters has proven himself, something that Bell has yet to do. Either way, awsome pickup, if it happens.
 
I don't like celebrating this kind of thing until it becomes official, but what the heck, come on down Lance! This team all of a sudden looks on paper to be a very decent team. Quality WR's, obviously there is a ? with any rookie, but I believe Ronnie Brown is the real deal, couple that with Gordon and Ricky and that's a pretty nice backfield. If the QB position does well and our O-Line improves like we hope, we should be decent now with Schulters in the secondary and our Defense looks solid, not GREAT, but solid.

Schulters deal?

Word from South Florida is that former Titan Lance Schulters, who visited the Dolphins shortly after his release in Tennessee, could sign a deal there soon.

The Titans let go of Schulters, who missed 13 games last year with a foot injury, for salary cap purposes

Well... yes.. but he was hurt last year... so really only one year... and the year before that he had 6! He wont be going to the probowl for us or anything... he is just a stopgap until we get youth to replace him...

bigby wont make the team and the battle for PS places will heat up.

we would have 5 safeties if schulters signs - schulters, jones, tillman, bell and bua. there is no place for bigby on the squad this year, let alone starting.
