January 4, 2007-Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas (Linebacker of the Year) and Jason Taylor (Defensive End of the Year) were among 10 current stars voted by former players as NFL Alumni 2006 Player of the Year honorees. The complete selections are:

DEFENSE
• Defensive Lineman—Jason Taylor (Miami Dolphins)
• Pass Rusher—Aaron Kampman (Green Bay Packers)
• Linebacker—Zach Thomas (Miami Dolphins)
• Defensive Back—Champ Bailey (Denver Broncos)

OFFENSE
• Quarterback—Drew Brees (New Orleans Saints)
• Running Back—LaDainian Tomlinson (San Diego Chargers)
• Wide Receiver—Andre Johnson (Houston Texans)
• Tight End—Todd Heap (Baltimore Ravens)
• Offensive Lineman—Steve Hutchinson (Minnesota Vikings)

SPECIAL TEAMS
• Special Teams Player—Devin Hester (Chicago Bears)
• Coach—Sean Payton (New Orleans Saints)

Congrats to Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas. Wished we had an offense to back up that defense. Just Blame Mike Mullarkey.
 
Not just Taylor, but Thomas as well? Amazing. Our defense really had a great year. Congrats to both of those guys. I hope Taylor sticks around for a few more years.

Yeah, and earlier last year in the offseason, I thought this would be Zach Thomas' year where he starts to show some decline in his game. Guess I was proven wrong, but I am happy he did!
 
Nice to see 5 of those players have SoFla relations.

Taylor/Thomas, Dolphins
Hutchinson, Johnson and Hester all grew up in SoFla.
