Heard alot of great stories about how Dan Sr. raised Dan and turned him into the great QB that we all loved. R.I.P my friend. :(

They just showed Dan talking about his father during the inception speech at the HOF. I remembered those words. I was fortunate enough to be there. What a great man Dan Marino Sr.

Without Dan Sr. we all arent so fortunate as to see his son play football for our beloved phins. Obviously, without Dan Sr. creating Dan physically, but beyond that is what Im speaking of. Dan Sr. is who taught Dan to throw the ball the way we all loved to watch it be thrown. Dan called his father the best coach he ever had.

From Dan's account and from what I have read others say, Dan Sr. was an outstanding father. He instilled in Dan all the characteristics that made him a great QB to go along with those throwing skills.

We as phins fans owe alot to Dan Sr. We lost a great man last night. R.I.P. :(

I was wondering why he wasn't on the pre game show. My prayers and thoughts are with Dan and his family. Rest assured Dan Sr., you did a great job as a father and husband.

i too send my prayers and condolences to Dan and his family...

This should be stickied!! Thank you Dan Sr. for giving birth to the greatest QB to ever play the game!! Have fun up in heaven!

Btw, if anyone has that clip of Dan speaking of his father at the HOF, please post it. I think it speaks volumes as to how signifigant Dan Sr. was in making Dan such a brilliant QB.

I think we as phins fans owe alot to Dan Sr. I know I do. Dan playing QB for the phins was such an important part of my life. As my childhood hero, I took alot away from how Dan played the game. Alot of my own competativeness and leadership comes from watching Dan Marino play football. Alot of the things Dan said in interviews while playing about issues such as this, I took it to heart and applied it to my own life. So in a large way, Dan Marino Sr. enhanced my own life by passing these ways on to his son, as Im sure he did many of yours.

I actually met Dan Sr. once, at the HOF enshrinement and talked to him for a few minutes. He was a class act all the way, just like Danny boy. Sad day today, prayers and thoughts go out to all of his family and friends.
