Mergedx2 Dolphins plan to sign former Giants QB Sage Rosenfels.

I find it ironic that so many fans wanted Henne gone, finally got there wish. Reap what you sow fans, reap what you sow.

The only good thing that comes out of this is that Ireland is surely gone now.
Disagree. If it's true that Ross told him not to spend money on this season (which I now fully believe, especially after the revelation that Gruden was offered 7 million by the Dolphins) , then I think Ireland is doing this under orders of Ross and is safe. Remember, Carl Peterson has Ross's ear, and Ireland came up through the NFL scouting system under Peterson, who apparently likes the guy. I think Ireland will be back next season unless the new coach really wants him gone.

Sadly, I actually like Rosenfels more than Matt Moore, but that may be because I'm in Charlotte and witnessed first hand the distastrophe that was the 2010 Carolina Panthers. Now we are going through the EXACT SAME THING. A coach that will be gone by season's end and perhaps the first pick of next year's draft...

I would hope we could make the progress the Panthers have made since last years debacle because they are fun to watch this season but history tells me The Fins will actually be *worse* next season even with the overall #1.

They would screw it up...

I'm not sure who you guys thought could be acquired that would "save" the season?

No where has it been confirmed that Ross is involved of any of the actual decision making of which players are selected. He may put a cap on spending.. but after giving Larry Johnson over 1 mil, Berardino reported that Gerrard only wanted $750,000 to finish out the season. It's not money. Maybe Gerrard simply didn't want to try and bail out a sinking ship. Perhaps he didn't want to get killed behind our line. heck Jake Delhomme flatly refused to play here. That has to tell you something. I think far too much blame is being put on Ross when he has said repeatedly that he lets the football people handle the football side of operations. He certainly isn't hands on Jerry Jones style of owner.

Did Larry Johnson even get that much? His contract was not guaranteed as he'd already collected severance pay once. I think Miami basically just sent him one game check and that was it.

Incidentally, I'm not blaming Ross. The team's a disaster and he absolutely should not spend more now for short term success that will only hinder us in the long term.

I really hope you're correct.

From what I've read the past couple of days, it seems like Ireland has brainwashed Ross into keeping him.

Just please let Ireland go!!!

I believe because Johnson was on the opening day roster his salary was guaranteed for the entire year. So yea, over 1 mil.

And I agree, Ross inherited this problem. I fully believe he's implement his changes this off season anyway, so we'd ride out this season as it was. Speaking of this season, I believe Ross still wants people at the stadium watching games. He makes money there too remember? Fan apathy doesn't bode well for future season ticket sales and there is no guarantee, we'll get Luck, or that Luck will be as good as Manning or Elway.

A lot of uncertainties. The only thing you can do is control what you do today.

Ross is a billionaire. You don't get that rich being peoples best friends. It's business. When it comes to making money and business, don't put it past Ross to do whatever he needs to insure a return on his investment. (Meaning firing everyone if need be!)

I have been holding out hope for this season but theis is just a diasater, Im on board with the firing of Ireland train. You do not do this and just say screw it we arent going to win so just give up. If you do you are a coward and just trulty a POS and i hope he never gets a job running a team ever again!

Sage Rosenfels...this season just got even funnier. I can't WAIT!

Note: All of this humor will fly out of the window if this ramshakle, career-jeopardizing O-line hurts Daniel Thomas badly. He actually seems to have some talent.

Let Gates play! Let Clay play tight end! Let Odrick play a lot more snaps! Let's see what we got before we burn the entire thing to the ground!

I will never forget the time Sage led that big comeback against the Bills in '05, that was a great game.
