Let's just hope that it is an insurance policy for Crowder. But not having Crowder will have another major impact on the Defense. I know a lot of people want Crowder gone after this season. But be careful what you ask for...you might just get it.
There is more of chance that Crowder's replacement will be worse than not better than Crowder. He is a solid to good LB in the NFL, there are plenty of teams that have let someone like him go and not find a replacement AS GOOD as the player they let go for years to come. Championship teams are built with having more Solid to Good players than the other team. The stars are great to have, but they MUST have a very SOLID supporting cast around them, just ask DAN!
Miami has a 30+ year old secondary...that is more than enough draft picks needed to start rebuilding it. They spent no picks on it last season in the draft. We are getting killed with spread type offenses this year. We need to worry about drafting more OL, DE (Pass Rushers) and CB next draft...no space to add a Day One Pick for a starting LB.
If Crowder is able to play vs. the JETS, Miami will increase the the chance for success by a large margin. He is vital to the Run Stuff and 3-7 yard curl/slant patterns.
