MERGEDX2: Kirkus & Roberson released

Nice.. that means we're going to get a good look at who will be starting for us receiver wise. I personally think Armstrong makes it on his ST play. I would LOVE to see him return more. He has real quickness for it.

 Sparano was just praising Roberson yesterday. Surprised he went before Billingsley.

HOw about this from rotoworld too.

Marty Booker believes he is in danger of not making the Bears.

Booker is getting little preseason playing time. The Bears don't have good wideouts, but do possess numbers at the position. If they keep five receivers, Brandon Lloyd, Rashied Davis, Devin Hester, Earl Bennett, and Mark Bradley may be better bets to stick. It's probably down to Booker or Bradley.

How many players do we have on the roster now...about 74 or so. We won't have to cut to get down to 75 on Aug 26th....I think we are already there!

Not really, because he was asked specifically about Roberson. I just find it funny that he was forced to answer the question, probably knowing the guy was going to be cut in 24 hours.

I'm intrigued as to why we are cutting down the roster before we have to, however. There must be some strategy involved. Also, looks like the fourth preseason game may not be as boring as usual, considering most of the real scrubs (i.e. with pretty much no chance of making the roster) are gone.

Roberson I could understand, but why would they let go of Kircus before Jayson Foster? Foster has done nothing to prove he is worth keeping around. I think Kircus should have gotten another week to show what he could do in mop up 4th quarter duty tomorrow.

there's plenty of scrubs left to cut.

Kircus might not have been that bad, but still not good enough for this regime...I like this, no bullsh$$$...

IMO I think they are getting rid of guys before they are required to is because they just aren't going to make the team anyway and take reps from guys who they want to get more work. No point in keeping guys around who really wont be on the team anyway.

id love to think we'd actually have "mop" up games for once

I think the performance of Armstrong knocked off Kircus. I dont think Foster lasts much longer.

wow, i didnt see this coming. This gives camarillo and armstrong a better chance to make the team.
