Here's an article on Ronnie from the Miami Herald yesterday.

http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/columnists/sports_buzz//story/590340.html

A mong the most encouraging Dolphins stories has been the accelerated recovery of Ronnie Brown, who is optimistic he will be 100 percent by the start of the season. But other standout running backs who also tore their anterior cruciate knee ligament have been reaching out to Brown with cautionary advice.

nice article i just hope his "accelerated" recovery isn't like daunte's "recovery". him being in the backfeild early is not a major problem as it was last yr..granted chatman did ok in his absence and having a back who si leading rusher doesn't neccisarily win games but it sure helps.

I don't think it is anything like the Daunte situation. Ronnie had a small, clean tear of his ACL. Daunte shredded his ACL, MCL and PCL. Both of those injuries happened in October of their respective years, so it is very possible Ronnie will be 100% by the time the season rolls around.

Daunte probably needed at least another two months before he should have went back out.

I do think Ronnie will be playing week 1, but I also think Ricky will get a lot of carries early in the season.

while not as bad a injury as daunte's it could become worse if he gets out there too soon i would think..i hate to see him reaggrevate it because it feels better just simply running around in shorts and working out. i guess we will see how it holds up once the pads go on and he starts taking hits on it.

From the article, it definitely feels like Brown is itching to get out there, so we just have to hope that he doesn't push himself too hard.

Edgerrin speaks with some wisdom on that one, especially when he says not to neglect your rehab just because the knee starts to feel good. That is exactly what Daunte supposedly did, or so he said. That's a big pit fall. No matter how good it feels, keep rehabbing the thing and work just as hard on the rehab as you do football.

I expect Ronnie to be ready for training camp and the pre-season games to be honest, and if he's not it's no big deal. His injury is a lot less serious than the injuries of many players in the past i.e Culpepper so the recovery time has to be shorter. I would like to see him get time in the pre-season games so he can at least shake some rust of the rust off though.

He'll be ready for full contact in training camp. Playing is not the issue. Playing well is the issue. How long before he can start playing well? Remains to be seen.

Ricky will enable us to work in ronnie as if it is still rehab for him.

When I step back and put aside the worry about ricky and think of the talent we now have in the backfield.........we have SICK potential in the running game. what a way to build a brand new offense, with two elusive smashmouth runningbacks. and they both seem like they are so jacked to play as soon as they can. Its all riding on theyre health. one physically and the other mentally.

If you want to have a sick running game you've got to be able to stretch the field and complete deep passes.

Plus for run blocking this is a very young OL and they will definitely take time to gel.

I really hope they don't rush Ronnie back.
Depending on how he looks out there, I really think Ronnie should be a situational player until the half way point. We're not winning anything this year anyway, it's better off that they don't ruin him for the remainder of his career now.

*regardless of Slug's sentiments in my sig.

Where did you find this information about Ronnie's injury?

It's like replacing a tranny on a car. As soon as it's replaced it runs, but doesn't run as good as it used to. And it's only a matter of time, before it goes again.

feeling good doesn't mean healed. injuries take time. i'd be happy to see ronnie sit til week 7 or 8. do more rehab and gain strength. when i look at risk benefit for ronnie brown i see little benefit to playing the first half of this season, and high risk. we have ricky and 2 draft choices and cobbs at the moment, let em play.

I'm psyched if ronnie can play full time with our new and improved O-line.
