This was from miamidolphins.com, for 12/31/08:

"Defensive tackle Justin Bannan (foot), wide receiver Mark Clayton (knee), linebacker Jarret Johnson (calf), wide receiver Derrick Mason (shoulder), safety Ed Reed (thigh), cornerback Samari Rolle (ankle/foot) and cornerback Fabian Washington (toe) all did not practice. Linebacker Antwan Barnes (shoulder), offensive guard Chris Chester (back), running back Ray Rice (calf), kicker Matt Stover (right ankle) and safety Tom Zbikowski (thigh) were limited."

That's quite a bit of talent who didn't participate in practice for the Ravens today. Maybe they are blowing smoke up our behinds, but still, you DO NOT hold out players from practice before -playoff- games unless there is something seriously limiting them.

As for us, the only two players who didn't practice were David Martin and Randy Starks who are both day-to-day.

geez, we either have a REALLY good conditioning program or Sparano and the Gang are keeping the injuries a secret. This Sunday really is shaping up to be a good game.

Well hopefully we don't have too much trouble against those WR's, who are giving me nightmares. Almost every time we've faced duo's of talented WR's we've crumbled.

Don't get too excited guys, lol...

As far as I know, the only ones who are really unlikely/doubtful to play are Rice, Barnes and Washington.

Washington is the one that really worries me, though. He has been lights out all year long, very under noticed guy that has changed a lot of games.

Other than that, the rest will definitely be there for the game.

Pay no attention to those injury lists, they are all bull crap. If I remember correctly, Tom Brady was NOT on the injury list for the first time in like 4 seasons in lasts years Super Bowl. And of course, he actually had an ankle injury heading into that game. Every game before that he was listed with some kind of injury.

Then again, that's the Patriots so being liberal with the truth is to be expected.

Most of them were hurt last time we played them, with Ray Lewis also among them.

Dude the Ravens defense are FLIPPING MUTANTS MAN. They will play, make no mistake about it. They have to be unable to walk to not play. Even then they will line up dragging themselves by their arms making tackles.

Hey, didn't Martin practice today? I thougt he did. It's gonna be a hard fought game. This time, the Phins will come out on otp.

I have no doubts that most of the guys will play, but being held out of practice? There are certain team-specific drills that are run in practice. It doesn't matter if you're Ed Reed or John Denney, every player in the NFL practices no matter how good they are. It just surprises me that they would hold out so many good players from practice if there wasn't something truly wrong with each of them, especially during playoff time.

Missing practice is usually a big deal, but it's still fairly early in the week so we'll see.

injuries or not, I think the Ravens think they have this all sewn up. thats why they are sitting out.

And we now know that they both practiced today. Martin and Starks that is.

That's what I'm thinking. They are letting some of their biggest players take breaks by sitting out of practice, probably thinking about long-term goals in the playoffs after they roll over us. Those guys better be in practice today and tomorrow or else they won't know what hit em', especially with all our trick plays.

No, honestly I think it's because we kinda got screwed out of our bye week, and these guys desperately need rest.
