1. Miami Dolphins
No one saw the Dolphins coming in 2008. This year, everyone does.
Their reward for winning the AFC East last year includes a first-place schedule, which features games against the Steelers and the Chargers, and games against every team in the AFC South and NFC South.
Oh, and two against the Patriots.
Last year, New England racked up 48 points against the Fins in Miami. With Matt Cassel at quarterback. With Tom Brady back, the Pats could score 70.
The '08 Dolphins also benefited from the absence of injuries. This season, chances are the Dolphins will be dealing with many more major and minor sprains and strains and snaps and cracks. And a harder schedule. And an improved Patriots team. And a bigger target on their backs.
So, yeah, it might be too much to expect the Dolphins to match last year's unlikely feat.

Well the Phins have played NE twice a year for almost ever so that isn't new. Expect more injuries this year? Based on what? If last year was injury-free (or close to it), why not be that way again?

It seems they are saying that the Phins were only good b/c no one expected them to be good and now that people expect them to be good, they won't win. This makes little sense. But hey, it's May. Sports sites have to come up with something to interest their readers, I guess.

I don't see the Patriots as an automatic contender. they have more question marks than Miami and just lost a high draft pick for the year.

No, it is not. There is no way the Pats score 70 points. I doubt they will score over 30.

He said they COULD score 70, not that they will. With Tom Brady back it is definetly not inconcieveable that the Pats put 35 on us in each game. I dont think it will happen, but with Brady back it can easily happen.

People here are more so hoping that Brady will not come back 100% and the Pats have another season loaded with injuries.

But your only hoping it happens. If it does' nt then the Pats will not be stopped in the AFC East.

Ooooooo... the chargers are sooo scary... hahaha

Uh, this guy says how tough our schedule is, as it includes teams like the Chargers, and then he goes on to say the Chargers won't make the playoffs. I think that sums up the value of this guy's opinion. Which is to say that it has none.

It's so mindblowingly stupid to make predictions in May based on "strength of schedule". By the time the season begins, I promise you some of those "tough" games will seem much easier and some of the easier games will seem much tougher. At this time last year, how many of you thought we would beat San Diego but lose to Baltimore? How many of you thought we would lose in Houston, but win all three divisional road games??

When they put up 48 on us last year, they scored a TD on Nearly EVERY possession. I think they punted 1 time.

So please explain how with Brady they could do any better? Cassel threw for 415 Yds with 3 TDs and a 115.0 QB rating.

Brady has never had a game like that against Miami.

This assumption of 70 points was absolutely ridiculous and insulting by the writer of the article, and frankly not well thought out.

We lost our #1 WR and both of our starting Guards last year, weren't those considered injuries?? Not to mention that Samson had a torn up shoulder, our interior line was pretty much gutted by injuries.
