Michael Egnew and Olivier Vernon still need to be signed, but Vernon's deal is close.

Text from source on Ryan Tannehill 4-year contract: "... should get done soon."

Sweet!! Thanks for the update. Let's get them all signed and in camp tomorrow. Wether tannehill starts this year or not, this is what we all wanted from the front office them having the stones to draft a QB high in rd 1. the tannehill era in Miami begins tomorrow and shouldn't be to long before he gets his chance, can't wait

I know they report tomorrow, but if they aren't signed by then they are not really missing anything. Friday is the day when they would start missing the important things.

I hear ya about not missing much, but having the deals done by tomorrow really wouldn't hurt either

Not possible....IT's Ireland and Aponte after all! How could they be close to signing anyone...fire them now, they're completely incompetent. We're the laughing stock of the entire NFL.....

Update on Tannehill's and Vernon's contract

From Armando (who's back from vacation) at the Miami Herald:
[Update: A source just texted me the contract "should get done soon."]

[Update 2: Third-round selection Olivier Vernon is also close to agreeing to his rookie deal, according to a source. This one should be done by the time the club practices Friday.]

No word on Egnew. The first update is regarding Tannehill.

Good news. Glad everyone seems to be doing the right thing and getting in on time.

Really it's unimaginable to me for there to be holdouts after the new CBA instituted the rookie wage scale.

Ben Volin tweeted that the Dolphins are "not close" with Egnew ... why? what leverage does he have?

I'm just a little confused why Ireland would draft Tannehill at #8 after saying he had a 1st round grade on him for 2 years, then try to add offset language to save a little money??? If you're confident enough to make the pick then you should be confident enough to pay the man!!!

I still don't get why Egnew and the Dolphins "aren't close" according to Ben Volin ... why? He's a 3rd round pick?! What leverage does he think he has?

Egnew has no leverage...no matter how simple they tried to make this in the new CBA the agents do their best to screw it all up. Unfortunately when one club gives in to agent demands then all the other clubs have to follow suit. For example, when the Panthers guaranteed Cam Newton's entire contract last year in the first year of the new CBA and rookie wage scale, now every club has to do the same.

REALLY?? So if you researched and found the car you wanted to buy, you would just pay whatever they wanted you to pay and wouldn't consider trying to haggle?? It is the job of the GM to get the best deal possible for the team. Lets wait until the players start missing some practices at least before we start saying what a bum Ireland is for doing what he is paid to do....PLEASE.

Thank goodness for this news. Hopefully all the people here can stop complaining now, but I'm sure it wont be too long before they find something else.
