Ric Seritella, of NFLDraftBible.com, reports Texas-El Paso PK Jose Martinez, University of Illinois CB Vontae Davis and University of Florida WR Percy Harvin failed drug tests for marijuana at the NFL Scouting Combine.


Does this knock Davis/Harvin down to the 2nd round???? I think Raji also failed a drug test according to another report I saw. How stupid can these guys be? Wait till after you sign the big contract to Go Ricky on your team. :crazy:

publicly announce they failed drug tests for.....pot? who cares?

if it was drug that actually should be illegal, like crack or meth or something, then i can understand people giving a damn. or steroids. but pot. give me a break.
 
The illegality of it is definitely questionable, but that is not the issue here. The issue is how little they must care if they are smoking the stuff knowing full well that they are about to be tested. Its stupid. It makes you question whether or not they "get it". It is not saying they are bad people because they smoke, its saying they are retarded because they smoked knowing thy had the biggest job interview of their life coming up and would be drug tested.
 
So they smoked pot in college? My god, lock them away and throw away the key. Who hasn't smoked pot in their college days, if it's crack or roids, then make a big deal out of it.
 
OMFG he smoked weed!?!!? maybe the indy police will try and arrest him like mike phelps. when will you ignorant americans finally understand marijuana is not nearly as harmful as the alcohol all you alcoholics drink on a daily basis.
 
It amazes me how dumb young guys can be. It's not like the test was going to be a surprise test. The fact that they couldn't be discipline enough to go 2 months without smoking weed make them 2nd day picks now imo.

Sure hope we get them both on day 2. lol very low risk

It's not the fact that they smoked weed....it's the fact that they smoked weed knowing they'd be tested at the combine. It's about discipline....and to add it's illegal and as long as it's illegal I cant support the use of it.

Now.....whenever it get legalized....Ill be smoking'em like cigarettes.
 
I could actually care less about Harvin smoking weed, I personally think it is no worse then alcohol, it is just him receiving future suspensions I am not pumped about.
 
hopefully this squashes any possible thoughts of selecting this guy. Even before this, I really didn't/don't want this selection. As a second rounder, OK, but he won't be there then. But DEFINITELY NOT as our first selection at #25. We have much more glaring needs than a Percy Harvin player. Yes, he's fast and shifty, but when it is said and done, he's still only short, fast and shifty. Not what we need in our receiving corps. Or at least not over what we can get at that #25 spot that will upgrade other areas of imminent need.

If he couldn't stay away from weed for 2 months knowing you're going to the combine... they won't be able to stay away in the season... which sucks. I wouldn't draft him, he was a great prospect, but this things make me angry... they're pros... they should know better..
 
Thats some expensive weed right there.

Probably cost each of those guys at least $1 million.

I hope it was worth it for them.
