The Oakland Raiders have claimed a speedy cornerback off waivers, a week after placing a speedy cornerback on waivers.

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Raiders have claimed cornerback Justin Miller, formerly of the Jets. Last week the Raiders waived cornerback DeAngelo Hall.

Per Schefter, the Raiders were one of three teams to put in waiver claims for Miller. The Broncos and Dolphins wanted him as well, but the Raiders get top priority because they have the worst record.

Miller was once among the NFL’s best kick returners, and he was chosen to the Pro Bowl after the 2006 season. But he was limited to just two games in 2007 and had played just one game this year before the Jets waived him./QUOTE]

This sucks. Especially since he would have been an update over Joey Thomas. I hope we can find someone else.

looks like we werent even close to getting him. Even if Oakland passed, Denver has a higher waiver priority than we do due to the record

I wanted him for ST reasons alone, He is really bad at covering.

Do you mean the Marlins player Justin Miller. I think he got released a while back

I dont understand why we wanted this guy...he is a broken down return specialist who is not as talented as Ginn.

i thought we had #1 waiver priority all season since we sucked so bad last yr

Well, that's how the waiver system works, so can't complain, really. We were the beneficiaries of the system earlier this year.

At least it's comforting to know the FO was on the same page as some of us here, but it sucks all the more we didn't get him. If the FO actually wanted him (unlike most of the bums we're usually clamoring for), he probably would have helped some.

He ended up signing with the Giants too I think..

I'm not going to lose any sleep over us not getting the CB though. Would have been alright as a returner, but Ginn/Bess do the job well enough.
