MERGEDX3: Sparano: We may keep four quarterbacks

The Dolphins now have four quarterbacks on the roster. Two of them are experienced veterans with a ton of starts under their belt, and the other two are youngsters the franchise invested second-round picks in. When asked how long the team can keep all four quarterbacks Sparano said "we'll see how things go."

"I expect that we'll have all four for a while. We may keep four quarterbacks. I mean, that's the truth. We might just keep four quarterbacks at the end of this thing. I mean, the team we just played has got a bunch of them," Sparano said.

It went out the door when none of his QB's have been consistent. I do not think Mccown will be around very long. He really sucked today and he played against 3rd and 4th stringers.

nah, just coach talk to not drive down the value of any of these guys. They are hoping a QB goes down (like Batch did) and a team is in need of a back-up. Why cut a guy when if you hold him for another week or two you might get a 7th round pick for him.

pretty obviously clear that Sparano is saying what BP has told him to say. this is obviously an attempt to build some trade value for Beck. hopefully it works.

actually the opposite is true. McCown played "with" 3rd and 4th stringers and "still" put up better numbers than Beck who played "with" 1st stringers and added yet another fumble to his already too many. Beck is definitely the one gone.

I'm a Beck supporter, but I gotta tell ya, he is putting the ball on the ground WAY too much. Parcells may just decide this is something that can't be remedied. If Beck goes, it will be because of his penchant for fumbling.

McCown also played AGAINST 3rd and fourth stringers and looked terrible doing so.

I know. Thats why I dont even know why they bother with this bs. Some of the fans may....I mean look at the Culpepper dibacle last offseason...people on here swore what Cam was saying was the gospel. But, people that count...OTHER COACHES AND GM's know its complete BS. Alot of fans know its bs too. Why bother???

You can come out and admit one of the QBs will be gone and it dosent necessarily hurt the trade value, because people already know one of them will be gone. You arent hiding anything. The only hope you have is that the one another team might want is the guy they think you are keeping if you cant trade him.

As long as you dont come out and say a guy sucks, and BP and Sparano both know that both McCown and Beck suck(In fact Im sure theyve discussed how much they suck. Id love to be a fly on the wall in a room with just the FO people sometimes) then its no big deal to just say that OBVIOUSLY we are only keeping 3 of the 4.
