MergedX3: The Official Julius Peppers Thread

I would love for him to come to miami he is a great player having him oppsite of Joey Porter would be nice

I guess he just couldn't stand to see another Jake Delhomme interception.

How would Peppers fit in in Miami? He's a 4-3 pass rushing end, could he be an end in the 3-4? Or would he be more of an outside backer?

As I'm typing this message, Jake Delhomme threw another interception.

he would demand around 17 million since he could still be tagged and thats the amount they would pay him so lets pass on him.

sure we could of use him..maybe about 8 years ago..no thanks we need younger players...

I dont know if he would fit the 3-4 scheme. 6'7 283 he definitely has the frame, although I think if he can bulk up another 5-10 pounds it would be great. One guy who the dolphins might want to look at is Igor Olshansky. He's a solid guy who is already bred for the 3-4 scheme, and im sure he would come relatively cheap.

Plus, just because he wants out does not mean he will get out. He is very likely to get the franchise tag. Carolina isnt just gonna let him walk like that.

If Peppers is granted his realease forget about Gross hitting FA. I would much rather resign Carey and try to pick up a guy like Scott. Then throw a boat load at Peppers, but will see.

The question is: how does he fit in the 3-4 scheme? Your going to throw a BOATLOAD of money in his direction and maybe find out that he's a 4-3 pass rusher not a space eater/lineman hog. Great player but probably does not fit here.

julius peppers wont' sign long term deal

yahoo sports homepage is reporting that peppers has decided to not sign a long term deal with the carolina panthers.

hoping to play with another team to reach his "full potential"

barring a franchise tag, he would become an unrestricted free agent.

He would be available if the phins wanted him barring the franchise tag.

I would highly doubt we pay the guy but I thought I would share the info since yahoosports is my homepage, and I just came across it.

this could alter the draft though... I guess thats how I am looking at it.
somebody could sign peppers, which would change their draft strategy making somebody else potentially fall the phins at 25..

good day!!!
