Merging should require reading

Topics being merged without mods reading hurts us when we start brainstorming (The stream thread on 10/21)

Currently, 17 of 25... or 68% of the threads on the main page pertain to how to watch the game on TV, or complaining about not being able to.

A lot of people want to discuss something else. Hence, we have to merge threads to make room.

In reference to the threads that were wrongfully merged--
Well if you looked at the threads instead of the title you would have seen the difference. The one thread the guy titled it how to see the game only to get people to read so he could complain about how the storm is going to effect him. Now I feel bad that the storm is going to cause some damage and inconvience some people but he should not use a misleading title to get people to read. The other thread was actually a few people that are working out a way to broadcast the game on the net. By just looking at the titles it may have seemed that they were similar but if you even read the first post of each thread you would have seen they were nothing alike.
I know yesterday it was tough with people continually starting threads about the game being moved and I'm sure you couldn't have read each thread and still kept up, but today is not nearly that bad.

Thank you! I was one of those trying to help I feel I got a slap in the face by having something I felt I was a part of become a hurricane thread as well. NOT FAIR! I know life's not fair, but come on now... just don't wreck my work is what I asked, hell if I pulled a forum takeover stunt and wrecked their work I'd be banned, well I feel they did the same to me. But no worries I'm no forum takeoverer.
