i haven't been able to catch all of the games this year and I haven't been on here much, how have Merling and Langford fared in their second year here? Not really stats so much as just their amount of play, doing their job, etc.

As a side note, How did Glenn Dorsey ever turn out from that draft? Is he doing pretty good or injured/benched?

They both look pretty solid against the run but haven't seen any pass pressure really from either..... that's the bad part... the good part is they're both still young and could improve their pass rush skills.

Merling looked sick the first week, have not seen much since.

Langford is solid, and may be one of our best defensive players. He doesn't stand out much, but he also doesn't get run over much either. He just does his job...

Merling had one very good game, but the player he was going up against really sucked. He hasn't done much of anything since the one game. He does not appear to be ending up on his *** as much as last year, so he may be progressing. Overall, he still has a long was to go.

It seems like they are being used less and less as the season has progressed. Not sure if its poor coaches decision or poor play on their part but either way it doesn't look good for our draft grades.

I still see Langford playing a lot as he is a good run stuffer and average against the pass.

Merling has been a ghost altogether.

...

I prefer wins over an A+ from ESPN.
Starks is playing well and helping us win right?
Starks is a beast. Merling and Langford have been solid, but as a poster stated, not getting any good of push on pass plays. They are young, and will improve.

can't complain, both of them have looked good, I wish they both had 16 sack to this point but, you just can't have it all.

i know this wasnt this year but merlings pick 6 off favre last year was awesome to me wish he would do that every game

Langford is good against the run, but Randy Starks has been such a monster this year, Merling hasn't been able to get on the field. Plus McDaniel has done well too. I would not say Merling is terrible, like Cameron Wake, I think he will see more playing time in the near future.
