But it gets even better!

Miami has a rising star as a pass rusher Cameron wake number 91 reminds me of a bigger stronger James Harrison
It comes from his twitter page (http://twitter.com/merrilhoge/status/4720352951) but based on his other tweets, he's making this statement after watching game tape, not just based on the highlights of the game. Of course, it's only based on 1 game, but that comparison makes me excited!

i have seen the similarities for some time now, what the Hell was he doing on the bench for 3+ games anyway. I wonder sometimes what coaches are thinking, do we have other gems riding the Pine. i thought Quentin Moses looked VERY GOOD in preseason, and i have yet to see him play, i wonder sometimes about our personnel decisions??

Over the last few weeks Sparano has said that he has given practice reps to Wake like he is a starter. he said this before the hamstring Porter thing.. Believe me, they knew his talent level.

Sparano went out of his way to say that Wake has Dwight Freeney type get off at the line, and has the low arc and arc speed of a Demarcus Ware.. Mentioning how Wake, like Ware, have incredible bend at top speed making themselves small so OT's can't get their hands on them..

He said it is a very rare talent that only very few have. And Wake has it.

Those are Sparano's words in his presser's over the past few weeks.. That's HIGH praise.. And those are some serious comparisons... When talking about Cameron Wake, the two players that come to his mind are Dwight Freeney and Demarcus Ware (Ware he coached in Dallas up close and personal)

Wake is going to be a player for us. Sparano didn't pick that out of thin air.. When have you heard him speak so highly about Moses or Anderson that way ? NEVER.

Sparano mentioned in his press conference today that Wake had some things that he needs work on. I'd like to know what he's referring too. Clearly the guy knows how to rush the QB. Does he have poor tackle technique in the running game or something?

there isn't a player on the roster they will admit is running on all cylinders and needs no work... its just not the nature of a coach or the game of football.

he has to do better at his run stopping abilities

his ability to close on the QB, after getting around the Blocker is RARE. His burst is something else. We found us a Gem i do believe.

He also said he needs to emphasize Wake in the games for what he is good at.. Sparano was pretty emphatic about it.. Wake will be in there to rush the passer, and rightly so.

My guess is he has to work on being an "every down" olb.. Like covering in the flats and what not.. Where to go in what formation with all the different motions etc. Making better reads when he isn't in pass rush mode.

He needs to work on the nuances of the position.. Remember that this is the first year in his life he is playing OLB.. But his pass rush ability isn't debatable. He has elite ability that not many people have in that department.

exactly and a guy who has shown NOTHING the past 2 years from ST flags to on the field uselessness in Anderson continues to play and stay active on game days.

anyone rem anything he has done besides getting a holding flag on ST once a week?

i have to admit this FO is good but they are very very very stubborn at times and contradictive.

he lacks experience and isn't very good at coverage yet.

i think all 3 sacks also came with a 3/4 point stance not standing up.

James Harrison is a complete linebacker, Wake is a pass rusher. Being good in the pass game takes a lot of work and understanding of the defensive system. If you ever heard Dick Lebeau talk about James Harrison and why he was cut so many times, it was never for lack of ability, it was for the little things and playing within the scheme. I'd imagine Wake is similar, a raw talent right now.

Against a LT nicknamed "Turnstyle."

I think Cameron needs to play with the big boys. This week will be interesting against the Jets to see how he does against an above average line.
