Merriman drops appeal....

Why not? The guy is roided up. He cheated to get that.

Big deal they take his stats away, the W would still be there after all, and I'm sure that's all he and the team care about.

The nfl steroid policy is an absolute joke, anything short of a year suspension for a first offense is a disagrace for someone who is proven to be cheating

4 games seems pretty fair to me. 2nd offense should be a year. then lifetime after that.

How is a quarter season reasonable for a player who has deliberately cheated, look at cycling, athletics, soccer where performance enhancers are between 2 years and life in most cases, 4 games simply isnt enough of a deterent in my book

because i feel the first time being publicly exposed and losing all that money and playing time should be enough for them to learn their lesson and not do it anymore.

I agree, 4 games, then a season. Plus if the steroids are such a part of their game, they may very well play themselves out of a job once they get clean. So not only would they have been cheating the game, but they would have been cheating themself too. And if they lost that much from not using steriods, they would either accept thier new role, or take them again to regain what they lost. And if they take them again, bam they are gone forever pretty much.

He's one of many doing the same thing.
He'll just follow the plan for covering the signs of juicing more closely next time or switch to some HGH drugs that aren't traceable yet.

Any of you that think there isn't a number of guys on every team doing this you're kidding yourselves.

Sad but true.

How is it cheating if everyone else is doing it? He was just one of the unlucky ones that got caught, maybe he pissed someone off.

no, not everyone else is doing it, and it's unfair to the clean players to say that.
